D&D 5E (2024) Greatweapon fighting style? Is this another joke? Did everyone at WotC failed elementary school math classes?

I've heard of some tables doing this. Advantage is +4, disadvantage is -4.

D&D 5E (2024) Are single class martials still going to be viable in 2024?

Depends How often you play and how fast you level could make a pretty big difference. If I know i'll be level 10 in 3 months I'd be more prone to multiclass than it taking 18 months.

    D&D 5E (2024) Post your homemade feats for 2024:

I think it would be balanced as a sword and board option (no feat required). You don't have the Nick property and it wouldn't work with dual wield mastery either because its not considered a light weapon. Be fun on a barbarian for sure :)

    D&D 5E (2024) Post your homemade feats for 2024:

I like it but I wouldn't want it as a feat. I think if you go sword and board it should be always available to shield bash as a bonus action. I'd have the damage be 1d4+str and allow AC magic bonus to apply to hit and damage too. Shield spike seems reasonable as well.

I would argue you can have a game with simpler vs more tactical choices and still have a strong benefit either way. Dueling and defense for example are both excellent choices and extremely simple.

I see it as a design fail if you give a bump for greatsword and mauls and all the single die heavy weapons get half the benefit. Like this stuff is so obvious and can be pointed out in minutes of banter online it's pretty hilarious.

    D&D 5E (2024) Conjure Minor Elementals

It's crazy. If you task me with retooling a spell, the very first thing I would do is google the spell name and read for a few hours what the community is saying and what are the offered remedies that dozens of other GM's have done. Then you put out a UA with a retooled spell that is either...

    D&D 5E (2024) Conjure Minor Elementals

True. At least I can wrap my brain around some logic of what they were trying to do there. Not saying I agree with what they did, far from it, but I can understand it. What they did with so many other spells makes no sense. Conjure minor elementals is just one of many.

This spell was in UA8 over 8 months ago.

    D&D 5E (2024) Conjure Minor Elementals

Yeah I watched them both. Objectively, it's absurd this spell went out like this. I'm picturing being a small group of developers talking about new spells and inside of 30 sec I think most D&D players with minimal experience would look at the spell and immediately say its OP. It's hilarious. I'd...

    D&D 5E (2024) Conjure Minor Elementals

I don't get how you can be working on this 5.5 edition for 2 years and create a spell this OP. If you gave one person the job to handle spells, is it crazy to think you could tweak every spell in the game and have time to spare? You could consult on every spell with each head of creation of X...

D&D 5E (2024) Wizards of the Coast Backtracks on D&D Beyond and 2014 Content

I will warn you. Once you use Pathbuilder it will permanently warp your expectations when looking at other character sheet generators. It's that good LOL.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworked…revised…redone….but

I think I agreed with you. I said that if at your table you want to say 5.24 only then thats ok. Dm's run the games.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworked…revised…redone….but

I think the lesser of two evils is to rename it 5.5 or 6th but either way a certain percentage would get pissed.

    D&D 5E (2024) Reworked…revised…redone….but

As a DM, at your table, you are God. So well within your rights to run the game how you see fit. This can all be worked out at a session zero.

    Draw Steel the MCDM RPG!

As a name. As a system I'm not sure.
