D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

No, it's fine. If you want full HP and abilities in 10 minutes play PF2E. I have. It's fun. 5e is a different animal.

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

I agree. As an aside, some of my most fun sessions have zero. We recently had a shopping session and everyone had a blast. Lots of interesting role play and bartering.

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

Depends. If you are going through a dungeon encounters will increase. I'm running CoS right now and i've had some sessions with 3 or 4 encounters. Over the course of an adventuring day you can easily have 8 encounters that spans multiple 3-4 hr sessions. I've also had many sessions with zero...

D&D 5E (2024) What is your oppinion of 5.24 so far?

I agree. I really hope they ramp up the power of creatures because a 5th level+ party of four or more players is going to be pretty darn strong.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Cleric"

Why bother discussing a games mechanics with someone that doesn't like to play it?

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

Monks get 6 attacks at 10th level and can sustain it for a whole fight. Maybe its not overpowered but boy its strong. There are trade offs too. The more I look at monk the more balanced they seem to be and I'm fine with them.

    D&D 5E (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

I think they would have reduced in half the amount of complaints about this class if they got rid of concentration on hunters mark.

And if it works you could even houserule its once a campaign for a character.

That sounds like a decent compromise. Call it Divine Font or something like that. I like your idea.

Any DM will make it seem more than a glorified spell slot too. D&D is a narrative game where players and DM are crafting a story. Every time divine intervention is used, as a DM, I'd see that as a juicy steak to bite into and create a narrative supporting why its happening.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

Nothing OP about having 10 rounds of 6 attacks..

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

No joke, I think the base class is so good I'd play a monk without even having a subclass. It's that solid. The subclass features are icing on the cake.

I dunno there are some nice feats out there too with a +1 ability score.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

My default is I just look at level 5. That deflect attacks absorbing 10-19 pts every round is very strong if you are getting attacked lets say on average twice a round. If you get attacked more, spend a point and all attacks now have disadvantage against you. AC 16 isn't that bad.

I've been gaming for thirty years. Maybe it's time to hang it up. OR On Simulations and Storytellers.

I'd take a break then look at offering your DM services online for a fee. There are so many people that want to play and willing to pay if you are a good DM online.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

If you skirmish with deflect attacks then you are insanely strong.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

And I get it, you can always get around it with more mobs and more attacks. I just hate being overt with my balancing. Every fight the monk is getting more multi attacks or mobs because otherwise its almost impossible to do damage with medium difficulty scraps. level 5 he's regularly ignoring...
