The Scottish transplant who sold me my car several years ago has the totally awesome first name of Freeguard... I had a 2nd Ed. gnome named Theric Clief, the cleric/thief (one of like, three (?) bizarre mc combinations a gnome could pick)... Just for giggles I decided that it was...

I keep getting ads for Temu everywhere - some of the pics of the models on those ads are definitely AI-generated, lol.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I seem to have acquired a new project... Coworker has just gotten into D&D and made a wood elf druid with robe, leather armor, staff and longsword. He's going to be emailing me his character pic sometime this weekend (hopefully), but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find a decent base figure...

If I were a more ambitious evil bastard, I'd train an AI solely on internet movie reviews, then instruct it to find random internet posts to comment on... Fortunately, I'm a lazy evil bastard.

I never played the video games, but it does look like it could be entertaining. (On the other hand, I definitely the potential for it to go wrong with pushing the humor too far.)

I collect the old Ral Partha Official 2nd Edition AD&D miniatures... That's something like 16 different box sets and just south of 300 individual blister packs in total... I own roughly just under half of that, many of the individual SKUs both loose and in their original blisters. I've spent...

What are you reading in 2024?

There's a rather good tv show called Brotherhood, about a Providence politician whose brother is involved in organized crime, if you haven't seen it. It's even better if you're extremely familiar with Providence.

What are you reading in 2024?

So far I've read Steven Erickson's WIllful Child (yes, an over-the-top Star Trek parody from the guy that wrote the Malazan Books of the Fallen series, lol)... And I'm mostly done with The Midnight Ride by Ben Mezrich, in which the true-crime author turns to fiction - Boston gets its own...

Got six inches of snow on Tuesday. Started at 6 Am. Only two people showed up for day shift at 8. Driving home around 8:30, almost got killed by a pair of <bleep>s on quads come flying out of the woods onto the road. Pretty sure they were some of the same <bleep>s that I saw last week going...

If You Need a Cane, Buy One of These

Bataireacht uses a different grip than Asian stick-fighting and uses a lot of punching motions - you could put a serious hole in somebody's skull with one of those.

If You Need a Cane, Buy One of These

Well, that depends... Those handles have a good curve to them and end in a fairly sharp edge. About the right length for bataireacht (Irish stick fighting) and they'd be decent for tripping or jabbing.
