D&D Blog - Kings and Castles

I would prefer it to be core/optional. In that once you get to a certain point you can take the game in whichever direction you choose, there doesn't need to be a default.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next weekly art column!

More art like this in D&D Next would make Scribble a very happy gamer!

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next weekly art column!

I agree mostly. I don't want JUST characters. Put them in a well detailed setting DOING stuff. The background to me is just as important as the characters in it. Earlier work always had a sense of place to me. The backgrounds were so well detailed that it just made me want to devise the story...

Why do we really need HP to represent things other than physical injuries?

I got a promotion at work last year. It's awesome because now I can take more knives to the chest.

    D&D 3.x 5e Forgotten Realms - should it be closer to 3e or 4e?

I'm in favor of simply giving it all and allowing the players to choose what era they want to use. Like they pretty much do with every Star Wars game system out there.

    What Rules Supported "Exploration"

If people could be specific as to which rules, and how they directly supported exploration that would be cool. :)

    What Rules Supported "Exploration"

What rules would you say over the various editions directly supported "exploration" in the game?

What do the D&D classes mean to you?

The classes are cool. I was trapped in an elevator for two hours and I had to make the whole time. But I don't blame them. Because one time, I turned into a dog and they helped me.

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

I wonder if the same would hold true now though, since they're talking about monsters holding their usefulness for a much longer period of time?

D&D Blog. Should Fighters get multiple attacks?

I think you missed what he was saying. He wasn't saying new players shouldn't get easy characters, just that any class should have an "easy" version. IE if I'm new and I like magic, there should be an "easy" magic using character class. I shouldn't be forced to play a fighter because that's the...

    Module Scope...

Kind of the second part... I mean obviously I don't think they can make EVERY rule an optional add in style thing, but I don't want it to be like One module for 4e style, one module for 3e style etc... Like I'd want to be able to mix elements from each game style. I know they've mentioned...

    Will you mix playstyles?

I will... I don't have people I game with who are hardcore one style above another, so I imagine my future games will be mishmashes of whatever seems to be most fun.

    Module Scope...

Here's something I hope. I hope that when we do start finally seeing information about the rules add on modules, they aren't like an "all or nothing" concept. It doesn't sounds like they plan for them to be, but still.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Next: How Miniatures Should Fit?

While I love 4e and 3e before it, I do tend to at times miss the days when I could play through several combats without minis being a part of it. I would agree that it would be cool to have the base rules playable without minis but rules for minis for when you want them. I wish there would be...

Uniting the Editions, Part 3 - Poll

Shrug, I've gotten the opposite in my games. People like the ability to overcome their enemy's defenses rather then be told "He saves" by the DM. It just makes more sense to me. If you're going to have spell saves, then why not make defender roll ALL defenses? You could do it either way for...
