Owen Stephens Continues 'Real Game Industry' Posts

I have asked quite a few authors, both of ttrpgs and of novels about buying from Amazon or B&N and whether they would like me to buy from a different source. The answer I have always received is sort of "w/e you want". If I am not mistaken, this is usually because creators that are not self...

    Here's What's Coming for Warhammer 40K Wrath & Glory

An adventure path? Very cool. Any game that boasts an adventure path has my attention.

D&D 5E (2014) 'The Thing' Inspired Rime of the Frostmaiden Has Player Secrets [Updated]

Vampire and WoD games in general can often revolve around the characters being at odd purposes but being drawn together by a larger threat. For my table, this has mnade some of the most memorable and enjoyable sessions.

D&D 5E (2014) 'The Thing' Inspired Rime of the Frostmaiden Has Player Secrets [Updated]

There was that part with the Wendigo in Rise of the Runelords that reminded me of The Thing. Great Movie and good video game for PS2 and PC as well.

Starfinder In July Playtest Starfinder's Mechs and New Nanite-powered Class

The space combat rules were my favorite part of the game but I disliked how ship advancement worked. I look forward to seeing the mech rules.

I will have to check that out. I don't like 5e as a rule set but the book looks very nice.

Pathfinder 2E Kingmaker Adventure Path's Cover Art

The fact that it is sandboxlike gives it more re-playability I think. To each there own of course.

    Warhmamer 40K Wrath & Glory (Cubicle 7 Re-Release) Review

Warhammer was one of those IPs I ignored in the past. It is a gaming giant certainly. Going into a game shop I would always look at the shelves packed with Warhammer things and wonder just what the hell it was all about. I have played quite a lot of WFRP 4e over the last year so now understand...

The Plastic Ancestry of the Bulette

Umber Hulk is one of my favorite classic D&D creatures. The 3.5 art in particular stands out in my mind.

Owen KC Stephens' Tabletop RPG Truths

Mostly Cynical. Which is fine and actually a little refreshing in a way. I was taking these as opinions and not facts, then he said they are facts and I re-read them. I suppose I have to take his word that they are all facts because I have no professional experience in the industry. Defiantly...

Worlds of Design: Worldbuilding 101 (Part 2)

I like to think of gods as a pantheon, rather than on an individual basis. My pantheons represent different concepts, both physical and philosophical, and can create a theme when looked at as a group. The larger concepts are important and powerful gods and often exist in a duality. Light and...

    Need some suggestions

I read the assignment wrong but I like my list anyway. Murder Book - The names of nearby murders appear on the pages. Lazy Blade - It has -1 to attacks. Voltswagon - Autonomous Electric wheelbarrow. No One Mask - Makes you look like someone else but no one in particular. Harbinger Bat - When...

D&D General Anyone ever run (or played in) a campaign with entire party (or almost) was a single class?

Why yes! A Pathfinder Adventure Path where the party was a traveling band, so everyone was a Bard. It worked exceedingly well.

RPG Crowdfunding News – Book of Fiends, Mineralogy Manual, Exalted Vales, and more

I judge books by their cover and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. The Epic of Dreams has a great cover. Also, It must be really hard to stand out when making a 5e compatible product at this point.

Here's What's Available For Free RPG Day

Man what a great line up. I want most of them! If I got one of these free I could justify reviewing one on my podcast rather than the little one page deals I usually do. So many games...too many games!

Alice is Missing is a 'Silent' Roleplaying Game

I have been waiting to see invintive RPGs that use our constantly connected world. Something between play by post and VTTs. I don't think there is a dice roller built into android's or apple's messengers but that seems like its something that could easily be over come.

D&D General Day Jobs For Adventurers

I agree though, one dip into a 3rd level dungeon, by using the proposed wealth by level scale, the bard will never work another day singing in the streets.

D&D General Day Jobs For Adventurers

I always like the idea of my players having day jobs but, in later versions of D&D at least, the wealth gained from adventuring is so much more than the money gained from profession and craft checks that it makes doing those jobs seem somewhat pointless beyond the first couple levels. I would...
