I wouldn't mind if they released the old books again like they did in the between times (between 4e and 5e). I wasn't able to purchase those at the time and remember thinking they looked nice.
I'm not sure about that but over the past 6 or so months it seems he pivoted somewhat from D&D the game to sensational D&D is doomed type videos. Ive noticed several D&D YouTubers I generally liked watching do this.
I run my games in FR but it's kinda mine own version. None of my players keep up with what has happened so I can change it however I need to. One day I'll jump to my own home brew world.
4e Essentials felt more like an attempt to do some sort of course correction. 3.5 can be perceived as a cash grab. The total rules update for 3.0 could have been done slowly over the life of the edition I would think. 3e seem like it had legs.
Yeah I gotta say I cringe every time I hear 5e called "the apologie edition". Or how Crit Roll or some TV shoes saved 5e even though those shows either used 4e or earlier game materials. 5e isn't good enough to stand on its own. Though...
