D&D General Less is More: Why You Can't Get What You Want in D&D

That is a very interesting article. Thanks for pointing me to it! Sounds like the demise was a combination of a lot of issues.

D&D General Less is More: Why You Can't Get What You Want in D&D

I feel like 5e has a ton of lore. More lore than I could easily digest in detail, and way more lore than my players will ever learn or care about. It's in my opinion the lore is fine. I can appreciate that it might not be enough for some (or even most?). To touch on 2e for a bit. This is a...

D&D 5E (2014) Vecna: Eve of Ruin Coming May 21st!

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Haven't had a chance to dig into it yet.

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Alternate Art Cover Reveal

That's beautiful! So am I going crazy or did they not say they wouldn't do alt covers due to the massive print run? Did I miss this being addressed? I'm not complaining just wasn't expecting it.

    D&D 5E (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

Unless they changed it in from the UA it is now one of the weapon properties.

    D&D 5E (2024) 75 Feats -- not nearly enough

We always played without feats. As a DM I always gave the option but no one wanted to worry with them. From what little I know of 5e24, feats being somewhat mandatory is one of the two things I didn't like. That and damage on a miss.

    D&D 5E (2014) Long time players and 5e’s success

Didn't read the entire thread but just wanted to add my stats for whats worth. I'm 42 and I have bought nearly (didn't buy Ravinca, Acquisition Inc, Strixhaven, and Book of Many Things(only because BAM doesn't have it)) every book that's been published. I also bought a good bit of the dice sets...

D&D 5E (2024) How Does Greyhawk Fit In To The New Edition?

I'm kind of right there with you. I got started in late 2e era and I was all about the Forgotten Realms. Once I figured out there was a lot settings for D&D I wanted to learn about the earliest ones.

D&D 5E (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

Oh yeah, no doubt. I'm not very familiar with Mystara but you are right, it definitely has some problematic content.

D&D 5E (2024) How Does Greyhawk Fit In To The New Edition?

This makes me wonder what the new (if they make a new one, I'm sure they will) starter set setting will be? Do yall think it will pick up from where the new DMG left off? Or do yall think they will safely set it on the Sword Coast? The possibilities! It will definitely be an exciting year(and...

D&D 5E (2024) Greyhawk Confirmed. Tell Me Why.

I'm pretty excited to get Greyhawk in the DMG. I only have the Greyhawk Gazetteer I picked up from a FLGS and it was missing all the maps. I feel like there's a void that Mystara would fill perfectly. I'm not super knowledgeable about the setting. Learning where magic comes from and such felt...

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

I've been looking at the new cover on and off throughout the day. The more I look at it the more I love it. I love that it is fairly consistent with the current books. This means there won't be a huge difference on the shelf, which I feel is a good thing, considering it's only a revision. I'd...

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

I'd have to say 4e PHB was my least favorite followed by 3e/3.5e covers. 2e is probably my favorite but this one is close. Really can't wait to see the rest of the book.

    D&D 5E (2024) New D&D Edition's Player’s Handbook Cover Reveal

I'm loving the new 5e24 cover art. It definitely feels old school and reminds me of the 2e covers. I also thought they weren't going to do alt covers for the initial print run? Just wanted to add, I really dig the colour choices here. It just gives me the old school vibe. I'm jealous I can't be...

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

I'd go as far to say that 5e has had the better adventures out of the past couple of editions (3e and 4e). That's not counting PF 1e sine it had some good and notable adventure paths. 5e adventures seem to be an easy target for the overly critical. They aren't perfect by any means but put them...

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin: Everything You Need To Know

I don't think this is the "capstone" adventure to end an edition everyone seems to think it is. I feel it's just another adventure in the 5e ecosystem as the others have been.

WotC Vecna Eve of Ruin Preorder Issues

I'm confused, so I pre-ordered the bundle on the 2nd and I haven't been able to access the early access. I did get the Eldritch Eye mini adventure pretty much immediately. Am I understanding correctly that I would have needed to pre-ordered before April 30th to get access? I sent an email but...

D&D General D&D Red Box: Who Is The Warrior?

I could care less if the figure was a male or female. Larry says it was a male then it's a male. I kinda feel like this is a bit of pandering from WotC and Wizkids. I'll probably get hate for this but I gotta take the artists word for it.
