D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Wildemount is pretty kitchen sink if you ask me, just new and attached to Critical Role. I’m not that into Critical Role, but I like Wildemount and I’m liking what I see of Netherdeep. Get over the whole Critical Role thing, and you’ve got a quality epic fantasy adventure in a fairly standard...

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

It’s not grimdark, at least not in my understanding of what makes something grimdark. Are there any officially published D&D adventures you would consider grimdark?

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

My latest theory is that it has to do with the “invisible mountain” from the adventure entitled Orchids of the Invisible Mountain.

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

With that line of thought, I’d argue most dungeons in D&D are highly impractical. At any rate, until we know the reasons behind the image (maybe the wall WAS on the ground and some magical force changed it), I’ll hold my judgement and appreciate the artistry.

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Maybe not everyone can fly. I agree that as a wall, it’s highly impractical. If it’s a causeway or bridge to something, then it could make some limited sense.

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Earlier in the thread people were saying that WotC was choosing skin color over talent. Since they hadn’t seen the book, it’s a strange thing to say. Luckily, the moderators have squashed that line of comments.

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Not every book is going to be to everyone’s liking. Does it need to be? Those saying that the current aesthetic is all light and fluffy haven’t been paying attention and they’re basing it on one adventure: Witchlight. Some people want more lighthearted fare like Witchlight (although the...

D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

I love both those covers. I may have to buy this book twice. And an adventure anthology book will be great for my off-the-rails Strixhaven campaign. Do I want Spelljammer, Dragonlance and Planescape? Sure. Does this product sound amazing? Absolutely!

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D Product Can Be Seen In The Crystals?

My prediction: we are about to get a box set of Spelljammer with a setting booklet and an adventure booklet. We are looking at the distorted image of the adventure cover.

D&D 5E (2014) Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep Review

I'm honestly not a fan of Critical Role, but I find the settings books (Wildemount and the Tal'Dorei Reborn books) to be outstanding. I'm looking forward to seeing this adventure.

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

I think they wanted to avoid the idea of race being tied to behaviors, so they went with supernatural abilities. A specific kender culture might, however, still be open to "borrowing" other people's things. As a long-time Dragonlance fan, I'm cool with it. I'm sure there will be plenty who are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Recent Errata clarifications

You disagree with people making the game what they want it to be? Some people will continue to make certain races a certain alignment and others won't. Nobody is wrong. It's a preference. WotC is acknowledging that.

Strixhaven: A Curriculum of Chaos - An In-Depth Review

I happen to really like the setting, but I’m frustrated with this “sourcebook.” I sure wish they had focused more on the setting and less on the adventure. It feels incomplete. I would have liked more info on the world and student life, such as dorm rooms/residence halls, cafeteria food, more...

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven Table of Contents

My main concern is that this appears as a “setting” book that doesn’t offer the same amount of material for multiple campaigns. How much does this portend future “settings” books? With settings like Eberron, Wildemount or Forgotten Realms, an imaginative DM could easily spend a lifetime...

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven Table of Contents

On DnDBeyond, it’s listed as a sourcebook, not an adventure. I think most of us knew the adventure was a large part, but I guess I thought it would be more half and half, with the bestiary being part of the adventure half. Maybe when I see the book, I’ll feel differently, but based on the table...

    D&D 5E (2014) Strixhaven Table of Contents

I figured this would be a hybrid of setting and adventure, based on what was said, but this feels more like an adventure, as others have stated. We only get about 27 pages (27!) describing the setting. Here’s the breakdown: setting details: 27 pages Player material: 12 pages NPCs and monsters...

D&D General New Summary and Release Date for 'Dragons of Deceit'

Device of Time Journeying? This sounds like the name of a homebrewed magic item by a 12-year old. I enjoyed the first two trilogies when I was a kid. I'm excited by the possibility of a campaign sourcebook (will it come in 2022?). But this description (and its various typos) does not get me...
