    D&D 5E (2014) Bards Should Be Half-Casters in 5.5e/6e

Well yes. But it's a nerf because it's not equitable. If everyone was in the same boat it wouldn't matter. And it's probably not really the point buy that matters so much. It's more the way ability scores progress. Point buy is all relative, but the fact that you only effectively get to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bards Should Be Half-Casters in 5.5e/6e

I think one of the advantages of merging specific types of casters is that they don't have to all depend on a single ability score. This was always the problem in the past that melee classes were MAD while casters were not. 5e (or well 4e really because it did it first) has mostly solved this...

D&D 5E (2014) What should an official Indian subcontinent inspired setting have?

It is, but sometimes it's set during Tang Dynasty China or Bronze Age Greece.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bards Should Be Half-Casters in 5.5e/6e

Yeah. That works I guess. And the Warlock could be another.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bards Should Be Half-Casters in 5.5e/6e

Honestly, I'd blow up the Sorcerer and the Warlock. Basically the same thing as a wizard but slightly different mechanics is not a good class concept.

D&D 5E (2014) What should an official Indian subcontinent inspired setting have?

Deleted Nevermind. I try to read charitably when posters ask questions but it becomes increasingly hard. I'm starting to think dishonesty should just be assumed.

D&D 5E (2014) What should an official Indian subcontinent inspired setting have?

Well sort of. Most of the Conan stories actually do refer to real world gods. That's kind of the conceit, that our later history is based of vague memories of the Hyborian age. And really I've always found real world gods more interesting than made up ones.

D&D 5E (2014) What should an official Indian subcontinent inspired setting have?

Also it should be written and published in an official Indian langauge only. Yes. You, whoever you are rushing to hit reply. I know,

    D&D 5E (2014) ToB Inspired Manuevers?

Tome of Battle material has been adapted quite a few times. Here's one source.

D&D 5E (2014) What should an official Indian subcontinent inspired setting have?

What should an official European setting have? The first thing to do would be to not try to "do India" as a game setting but pick some themes or ideas inspired by India. Maybe pick a broad period or theme. Is it going to be based around the Mahabharata? Or maybe you want something more...

    D&D 5E (2014) Bards Should Be Half-Casters in 5.5e/6e

Bards. What do we do with them? What's special about them? Music. They get music? Great? We build a class all around music and magic. Who wants to create a whole new magic system around music? ... Anyone? ... That's not how they have traditionally worked. Remembere you said it has to feel...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

Well yeah. By all means have no guns. Or have guns like in the sixteenth century where they were common but in many ways pretty crap and people still wore armour and weilded swords commonly. And I'd love to see a bit more flexibility or abstractedness to D&D so not every setting was assumed...

D&D 5E (2014) Realism and Simulationism in 5e: Is D&D Supposed to be Realistic?

Why not just assume that? I always consider taking the most charitable interpration possible until it's unavoidable not to a basic responsibility of discussion. The edition wars were ten years ago. At what point do we have to stop treading on egg shells?

D&D 5E (2014) Realism and Simulationism in 5e: Is D&D Supposed to be Realistic?

It varies a lot depending on the particular game. Conan and Infiinity are more like a traditional game in respects other than the metacurrency whereas Dune borrows a lot from Fate.

D&D 5E (2014) Realism and Simulationism in 5e: Is D&D Supposed to be Realistic?

It would be interesting to see someone ask Justin Alexander how he feels about the 2d20 system with it's very dissociated mechanics for momentum and threat, given that he worked on Infinity which uses that system. (I like the 2d20 system overall, although it is very dependent on having players...

Dragonlance DRAGONLANCE LIVES! Unearthed Arcana Explores Heroes of Krynn!

Why do we want rare firearms? I've never understood this paradigm in which guns exists but are incredibly rare or unusual. If we want guns, why not have them practically replace guns or crossbows?
