D&D 5E (2024) Put initial stat bonus in class not background

Then where’s the fun in playing a Sorcerer Orc if it plays exactly the same as every other Sorcerer.

D&D 5E (2024) What do you expect/hope to see in future playtest packets? (+)

If you aren’t specialized, then what’s the point in having classes to begin with?

D&D 5E (2024) Put initial stat bonus in class not background

Exactly. It made race/class combos pointless. There’s really a point in having them anymore.

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

I don’t know why people assume all you have to do to become a god is get to level 21. Real Demigods are way stronger than that.

D&D General Beginning a new campaign advice - foreshadowing and railroading

Focus more on the setting and overall “problem” than any actual plot. The Japanese describe it as Kishotenketsu. Having an explicit goal just makes the plot too narrow. Work on character interactions first and then the plot will reveal itself.

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

Define “collapse”. To me it reminds me of people’s complaints about Pokémon Legends: Arceus where a lot of players couldn’t adjust to the new battle system.

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

I can’t tell if this is a joke or not, so I’m gonna answer honestly and say “No”. Most people in the world at the time hadn’t even heard of him. Of course we only care about Northern Eurasia. Nowhere else really matters./s

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

It reads like Alexander the Great’s accomplishments. It seems big because the scope is so limited.

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

That feels dumb to me since 11 is clearly presented as “mid level”. It’s like calling a middle schooler a genius. THE hero should be max level. The only reason the party succeeded was because it was a party but that particular character was nothing to write home about.

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

Villains and monsters don’t even need to have levels to begin with. It’s purely for the sake of players. If the only thing high level is used for is powerful spells, then it can just be an ability that’s added onto a specific creature.

D&D 5E (2024) What do you expect/hope to see in future playtest packets? (+)

Ability scores shouldn’t be capped. I takes away from customization and the point of leveling up if you can never go past 20. It’s bot like the Ability Scores can even go that high now that they got rid of Epic Levels. What’s the point in capping them?

D&D 5E (2014) PC Limitations vs. Do Whatever You Want

The developers restrict us in different ways than before. While there are a lot of floating stats, the stat caps make many of boosts trivial so that it never really mattered what you were playing.

D&D 5E (2024) What do you expect/hope to see in future playtest packets? (+)

Or better yet remove all those stupid stat caps they’ve putting on everything. It’s really ruining the game.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 PHB Race discussion

I like dropping the Half races because it feels like they should be templates anyways.

D&D 5E (2024) Put initial stat bonus in class not background

Let’s get rid of class too. It’s too restrictive.

D&D 5E (2024) Put initial stat bonus in class not background

Why don’t we go the Megaman/Bravely Default II route and just have all the abilities have set affects and damage?

D&D 5E (2024) Split the Players Handbook into two books: Lower Tiers and Upper Tiers

Why not get rid of levels entirely by that point? The point of levels is that it changes how you approach gameplay, all this homogenization makes me feel as though people don’t actually want things to change.

D&D 5E (2024) What do you want to see excised?

Ability Caps. I hate how 5e only let us go to 20 with Ability Scores. Next thing you know they’ll get rid of levels too. The Whole point of milestone leveling is that people achieve more for less work. (Well, it’s also for story tension but mostly the less work part.) If they’re required to do...
