WotC What classic setting SHOULD WotC publish and why?

Pelinore. The world is flat and British and centered on cities (but not in an excessive Ravnicaesque way). Pelinore

What is the biggest starship deck plan available

I believe that that would be the pdf version of the Classic Traveller games that includes all the deck plans for the Azanti High Lightning. It is about 35 million cubic feet (what Traveller calls 70,000 displacement tons at about 500 cubic feet each) and the deck plans are complete. Marc Miller...

D&D General Exclusive Subclasses for Nonhuman PC races in an Almost Old School World

Gnomes would be built to be Artificers. Gnome racial spells and powers would be altered to fit into their class (As in Dragonlance but without the constant failures and explosions). Maybe only Gnomes can become Artificers.

D&D General Exclusive Subclasses for Nonhuman PC races in an Almost Old School World

Tiefling racial powers like Hellish rebuke would be integrated with Warlock class spells. Tieflings would be designed to be Infernal Pact Warlocks. When they make a deal with a fiend it's really just their fiendish ancestor helping them out. Maybe only Tieflings can become Warlocks?

    1920 Pulp Dinosaurs?

Have it spotted from the air by a famous aviator. No one believed his dinosaur stories so the PC's are the only ones he can talk into exploring it for him.

D&D 5E (2014) Lightning Bolt should be better.

What if metal armor gave disadvantage on saves versus Lightning bolts? (Precedent - Shocking Grasp is more likely to hit a metal armed target, why shouldn't Lighting Bolt be the same?) Fireball would still be better, but you would have closed part of the gap.

WotC So, when do the announce the July book? Guesses on what it'll be? 🤔

I am expecting a second Critical Role book, presumably about the other continent, someday. Why would the one from Green Ronin have gone out of print unless either WOTC or Mercers own company are planning on doing one themselves?

D&D 5E (2014) Why are potions of healing so expensive?

If you look at the prices of food and lodging 1 GP is more like $80, so 50 GP is more like $4,000. Also, D&D settings have third world economies and thus many people do not earn 50 GP ($4,000) per year.

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

Ye, of course, if the flaw is as bad as Blindness. Every round every player should always be asking themselves how they can gain Inspiration this round or how thy can spend or give away the Inspiration they already have. Five times a session per party is a low number. Five times in five years is...

Official News Let’s Look At The Level Up Character Sheet

I'm not saying it should be a separate skill. I'm saying that if it is a separate skill than these are examples of some of the times I would link it to Strength.

Official News Let’s Look At The Level Up Character Sheet

Trapeze catchers use Strength based Acrobatic checks. So do climbers holding their buddy with one hand to stop him from falling.

D&D 5E (2014) What Single Thing Would You Eliminate

The notion that skills are optional.

    D&D 5E (2014) Guide to cruddy spells (v1.01)

I thought that the point of Skill Empowerment being 5th level and requireing Concentration was to balance the Rogue vs the casters by not devaluing the Rogues Expertise.

    D&D 5E (2014) Blind Characters in 5e

But being Blind can be a Flaw. When your Flaw causes you a problem your DM should give you Inspiration. Next round you spend that Inspiration to cancel your Disadvantage. Your Flaw is still causing you a problem because if you were not blind you would now have Advantage. Your DM should grant you...

D&D 5E (2014) The Call is Out: D&D SciFi Should Be The Next Campaign Setting / Expansion

Goggles over eyes = advantage on saves vs blindness. Goggles on forehead = advantage on Persuasion checks (1/long rest) because you're just so cool.

D&D 5E (2014) In a (hypothetical) Tales from the Yawning Portal 2, what are the adventures you would want updated for 5E?

L1-L3 (Secret of Bone Hill, Assassin's Knot, and Deep Dwarven Delve (scarce)) would be nice, but might be better still from Goodman.

D&D 5E (2014) Next (3rd book of the year) endless speculation thread

How about a Spelljammer/Planescape book for 2022 that would include a few pages each on a bunch of different planes and planets, similar to how the Ravenloft book will include a bunch of different Domains?

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D doesn't need bards

No. DND doesn't need Clerics, they're all really just Warlocks anyway.

Official News Level Up: Spending Gold (At Higher Levels)

Is it really your cook who gets you that extra hit die and not the servants who carry, unpack, and set up your soft mattress, down pillows, extra blankets, and mosquito netting? There must be a reason why so many real world travellers had vast amounts of gear.

D&D 5E (2014) Rules Question - The interaction between Str (Athletics) checks, movement and actions. Does Swimming take an Action?

Why do you assume that you don't need a check to climb a ladder? I am not aware of any 5e rule explicitly saying that you do not and I not only know people who have fallen off of ladders I've even done so myself. I'd call it a DC 5 Athletics check, with advantage if both your hands are free, and...
