    What RPGs genres are lacking?

125 points + 20-30 in complications. So far I have a Native American scout/bounty hunter (our Doctor in Traveller), a black female Medical Doctor (I checked and there was at least one in America by then) (our Astrogator in Traveller), a gunsmith/businessman (our Planetologist in Traveller), and...

D&D 5E (2014) DM imposed restrictions to the game (+)

It depends on what I am trying to do in that game. When I run beginner games at the store I restrict players to non-evil Forgotten Realms content & characters, because that is where we are, and what is best for the other beginners. In my upcoming Greyhawk home game I will be restricting players...

    What RPGs genres are lacking?

It's not Weird West that is underrepresented, it is non-weird West that is underrepresented. Boot Hill is the classic but it is very combat centered, even more than D&D. Most other "westerns" add weird stuff, horror, alt-history, etc. There are a number of generic or multi-setting games that can...

    D&D 5E (2014) Downtime Activity: Spellcrafting+

How about +1 Caster Level or +1 Save DC or +1 to Hit, just as if you had spent the time building a +1 Implement instead of making up a spell?

D&D General Muscular Neutrality (thought experiment)

Without Muscular Neutrality you could get Krynn before the Cataclysm. With Divination spells and cross planetary gates powerful people on Greyhawk might well know about what happened to Krynn. This might cause them to conclude that they have to stop good from getting all powerful, so that...

Popular Board Game Terraforming Mars Gets TTRPG

I remember when this game was called Pendragon.

TTRPG Genres You Just Can't Get Into -and- Tell Me Why I'm Wrong About X Genre I Don't Like

Example - What if the PC's are the crew of the ship that transports Dracula to England? Sailors can make great PC's from the DM's point of view, because they could be in any (coastal or maritime) location in the world that the DM wants to run an adventure in.

D&D 5E (2014) Which was the most recent Wizards adventure you consider a classic?

Tomb of Annihilation has a deeply flawed concept - you should not combine an urgent "everyone in the world who has ever died will die again in a few weeks" hook with a "picaresque, let's hex-crawl explore this large area" setting. They just do not go together. A group will either end up ignoring...

    DDAL 2014 Pregens to 2024 5th level

The Carry Capacity, Drag/Lift, and Weight Carried are wrong for both of these. The L1 Cleric should not have the Prepared symbol for every single L1 CLeric spell.

    DDAL 2014 Pregens to 2024 5th level

The Life Cleric needs to have the automatically prepared spells from the Life Domain added to their spell list.

D&D 5E (2014) Giving monsters more (unlimited?) reactions in one turn

Do Ettins still have two Reactions? Having two brains seems like a great reason to get two reactions. For everything with one head, just stick with Legendary Actions instead.

    D&D General Gear

With Gear D&D will once again be about killing people (humanoids have the most Gear and tend to be lower CR) so that you can take their stuff and sell it for money. Is this really where D&D wants to go?

D&D 5E (2024) Sunless Citadel Thoughs? Almost had a tpk.

I have run this numerous times for beginners and I have found that having a pre-built L1 Kobald Sorcerer PC named Meepo is a great way to replace a dead PC and give the GM a chance to help the party with things like "Meepo, you know that there is an evil tree on the lower level." I am attaching...

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

Monster Manual II; A completely new setting, complete in one book; a book full of adventures that I would want to run; and a Tensers' Guide to all the cool SubClasses and spells not yet covered in 5.24, including a revised, and drastically nerfed, version of the Twilight Cleric so Munchkins will...

Monster Manual Suggests Changes Are Coming to Some Playable Species

No, they will want to save if for the (hypothetical, but likely) Eberron Players Guide for the end of 2026. Then, they will just keep rolling with the two setting books per year as long as they sell. They will include new subclasses and spells to get more players to buy them, and some setting...

    You have a Kaiju!

Is "whichever one I can sell for the most to an eccentric billionaire who actually wants a kaiju, as long as I have no negative safety or legal issues from this process" too crass of an answer? If so, I will pick "Plastic-whalio" a kaiju that filters and eats, like a baleen whale, ocean plastic...

Your Most Useful and Most Used RPG Products

It is my dice. Specifically my Zocchi 20's and 6's. I can't remember the last game I played or ran that I did not use at least one of them in. It's been at least 35 years. I am so glad I bought the $1 per die dice and not the cheap $0.35 per die Chessex dice.
