Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I don't think we'll see 6e for a very long time (As in 10 years or more). I can maybe see a 5.5e with updated rules, but 5e is set up as an evergreen edition, and it's the most popular edition of D&D ever, as far as we can tell from sales and media coverage. I wouldn't give up hope that we'll...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC Delays New D&D Book Announcement

While that's a fair assessment, I just find the choice uninspired. Like you said, people watch CR because of the personalities involved, not because the setting is particularly interesting. I understand choosing Wildemount over, say, Dragonlance or Greyhawk, but it's disappointing that it was...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC Delays New D&D Book Announcement

I love Matt Mercer and CR is fun...but I'm really disappointed in this. We now have two Campaign Settings that no one asked for (Ravinica and now Wildemount) while fan favorites like Planescape, Dark Sun, Dragonlance, Greyhawk, and heck, everything in FR that isn't the Sword Coast or Chult have...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Kate Welch Hints at Celebrity-Written 2020 Adventure Book

True, but it does seem like they're trying to do at least one "collection of adventures" module a year, especially if that's what this is. It also looks like we're already moving to the "4 books a year" model since, with Descent into Avernus and the Eberron hardcover coming out still, that'll...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Kate Welch Hints at Celebrity-Written 2020 Adventure Book

Whatever it turns out to be, it very much sounds like it will be next year's "Tales from the Yawning Portal" or "Ghosts of Saltmarsh" style of adventure module. Which should be exciting since it sounds like it will have all-new adventures this time around.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Kate Welch Hints at Celebrity-Written 2020 Adventure Book

I know he wrote a screenplay for Dragons of Autumn Twilight, but I don't think it went anywhere. However, I was just reading through Art & Arcana for the first time, and there's some hints that we may see Dragonlance return eventually. I can definitely see him, Weis, and Hickman all being...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Kate Welch Hints at Celebrity-Written 2020 Adventure Book

Well, damn! I'm glad to hear he's so involved; he's got a ton of passion for the game. I've got to say, though, if anyone had told me that Alcide and Jessica from True Blood were gonna be unofficial D&D brand ambassadors 5 years ago, I would have chuckled heartily. We live in strange times...

TSR The Lost City - Goodman Games Next Classic TSR Adventure Revisited

Any release date on this? I know Expedition to the Barrier Peaks comes out in December, so I'm assuming this'll be released in the first half of next year sometime.

D&D General Ed Greenwood: How The Realms Began

Morrus, you should put that note at the top of Ed's post. I almost stopped reading thinking this was some impostor looking for attention! Anyways, I'm excited to read your articles, Ed! The Forgotten Realms are where most of my games are played, so I love the insight into how they were created...

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Kate Welch Hints at Celebrity-Written 2020 Adventure Book

Joe Manganeillo comes to mind, if it's just celebrity authors. The guy seems to eat, sleep and breathe D&D nowadays. I'd suggest Matthew Lillard, too, but I dunno if him being one of the execs of Beadle & Grimm's would disqualify him or not.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is Hoard of the Dragon Queen such a bad adventure?

Ha! I never even considered that when typing it. Surely, you know I meant Limited Edition, though. ;) But yes, let's hope the edits actually make it a playable adventure for newer DMs. There's a lot of good stuff in both HotDQ and RoT, but it needs some serious cleanup as-is.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is Hoard of the Dragon Queen such a bad adventure?

October 22nd, only in FLGSs, like most (all?) of Hydro47's Alternate cover editions.

D&D 5E (2014) Why is Hoard of the Dragon Queen such a bad adventure?

*checks date of post* Ok, you're either a secret WotC employee or you have precongnition because this is exactly what just happened. HotDQ and RoT are being re-released, together, as a LE Tyranny of Dragons book with Hydro47 art, a revamped first chapter, and a bunch of editing and balancing...

D&D 5E (2014) Gale Force 9 Shows Off D&D 'Of Ships & The Sea' DM Screen

It's available, since I physically own it. It's neat if you're looking for random encounter tables for Sea-based campaigns, but that's about it.

So is that it? (re: the setting announcements)

It could be because it's considered Unearthed Arcana and will, therefore, be updated for free as the playtest wears on. Once complete, I can see WotC offering a POD softcover or even a full-blown HC.

Ravnica: Is This The New D&D Setting? [UPDATED & CONFIRMED!]

This is what I'm hoping for. I've heard rumors that it was stated in some official capacity (Twitter? Stream of Many Eyes? Can anyone confirm?) that two setting products would be introduced this year, and that classic D&D fans would be very happy. Planescape/Spelljammer in addition to Ravnica...

Ravnica: Is This The New D&D Setting? [UPDATED & CONFIRMED!]

While I'm not against using D&D to fill out M:tG settings (Ravnica sounds interesting!), shouldn't they be concentrating on other D&D settings first?

    D&D 5E (2014) Beadle & Grimm's Waterdeep: Dragon Heist - Platinum Edition

Matthew Lillard said they had solved the International shipping issue in one of the threads on Reddit where people were talking about this. https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/8o9m7l/beadle_and_grimms_is_a_scam/ [–]jonbly 1 point 17 days ago > They also don't tell you how large their...
