Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

See our ranger has only lost concentration on hunters mark once so it has never felt all that bad. Now they do drop concentration on it to cast another spell every session should me times multiple times per session. They did take resilient con as their lvl 4 feat brining them to a 16 con. Not...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

What I would love but I know we won't get is like a condensed version of the old Van Ritchen's guides so rules for different types of mummies, glitches, were creatures, vampires.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

For our home group we will probably just drop the concentration requirement at level 13 instead of the can't loose concentration when hit. Honestly with that I feel that the ranger is solid. I would still use most of my spell slots outside of combat for utility but being able to have a summon or...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

It is not that difficult to pick up reliable con fest to boost you to a 16 con and grant you proficiency in con. I do this with clerics, druids, warlocks, rangers, quite regularly because most of them get into melee quite often and it is a very useful feat. With how feats changed I personally...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

As far as a werewolf goes the Path of the Beast Barbarian along with the shifter race makes a fairly good one. I play with a Grave cleric so we go down to 0 ho to very few sessions so he can pull the healing shenanigans they get In my friends high level (15th) campaign someone dies almost...

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Actually he said it was his favorite take on the necromancer, the best concept for that type of summoner(?) they have done. It was just that the n necromancer had a very low score on dndbeyond as far as players and abjuration and divination we more liked.

Dungeons & Dragons Announces Horror Subclasses Unearthed Arcana

Perkins talked about the necromancer being ready back during the first round of 2024 play test what about two years ago. While it has never seen public play testing they have had it for long enough that I am sure that it could already be in what they consider a finished place.

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

I would hazard a guess that a large percent of the people who play shadow dark have played ad&d or ad&d 2nd ed so the idea of a barbarian going back to something more akin to what they were back then isn't so I familiar.

the fighter gets an extra +1 that is all, how is that double?

So this is the, you now have no reason to play a fighter class. Named blade went from just a bonus to hit to a bonus to hit and damage, the same as weapon master. I am trading possible more carrying space (which your mount can give you), and advantage on rarely used check for a great party...

Showdowdark Class Design: The Paladin! Live with Kelsey Dionne.

She went with the original concept of a paladin, which is a knight long before d&d co-opted it. This is a knight of Charlamagne, of the round table which is why it has at least some mounted abilities.

Showdowdark Class Design: The Paladin! Live with Kelsey Dionne.

As much as I like the ability I feel that the blessed sword is just too much with everything else when compared to the other mounted classes. It also clashes with the concept of the lance by level 4. The mounted archer is just too weak to begin with, a mount that ignores terrain, 3 time uses...

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

Personally I think that the classes are simple enough that why not just make lots of new classes, as long as they are unique and interesting. I do feel that the fiend and beastmaster are a bit to powerful but I also feel like some of her classes like the horse archer is a little too weak. What...

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

Even without the mount you get a bonus to hit, d8 up all armor and shields, a decent selection of weapons, a great death save boost for the party. In my opinion the mount doesn't take up that much design space, power, so even when you are off your mount you are still a good character.

Shadowdark Western Reaches Stretch Goal: New Classes

While I didnt want the Paladin, would have preferred the jester or pirate, what we are getting is a great mounted knight character.
