    Demon lords Xazivort and Maelfesh

I don't remember Maelfesh, but isn't Xaxivort (sp?) the god of the xvarts? If so, the original write-up is Dragon #64, IIRC. I think he got a treatment in a later Greyhawk product as well (perhaps LGG?). --Eric

Vecna vs Kas - adventure ideas requested

There was a graphic novel a year or so ago that featured Vecna when he was alive. I don't recall the name or publisher, but I'm sure someone on this list might. Anyhow, that might have ideas. --eric

    Demon Lords

    1) Eltab is the major unique one. 2) I folded Zanassu into Selvetarm (a drow god) in Demihuman Deities. 3) Orcus of course gets a lot of play up in the the Bloodstone Lands. (I thought that half-fiend ibixian on one of the Black Dirge threads was perfect for Vaasa.) 4) Yeenoghu (sp?) is popular...

    Demon Lords

Well, largely because I wanted it to be that way. ;-) I wanted to use a pre-existing name for a unique female demon, but I also wanted to play with the PrCs in the back of the Fiend Folio and an advanced demon and see how powerful it could become. Then I wanted to create tie said demon tightly...

    Demon Lords

From the Realms perspective: Sess'inek gets some play in Serpent Kingdoms. Eltab is written up in Champions of Ruin (in the BoVD, not Dragon, format). Zanassu's fate is detailed in the write-up of Selvetarm in Demihuman Deities. A succubi named Soneillion (who is most likely NOT the...

Dungeon #126. Anyone have it yet?

I'll leave it to someone else to summarize and review the adventures (for obvious reasons). For #127: The Hive, by Phillip Larwood The once-dwarven wizarde Hehranna knows that her previous race, for all its pride and skill, is hampered and distracted by lesser concerns--family, friendship...

    deep, open dungeon adventure

I'm not sure it meets your criteria, but Hellgate Keep (2e) details the ruins of a city on a small plateau. The city has been disintegrated, forming an inverted-pyramid-shaped despression into the plateau. The maps appeared in WoTC's "Maps of Mystery" here...

Forgotten Realms Geniuses, help with a name

I'd vote for "Tharkul". It's the ogre word for "King of Thar", which is a wilderness land far to the north, along the northern shores of the Moonsea. Note that the ogre kingdom is long-fallen. I could easily see "Tharkul" becoming a name for an ogre-like human among the soldiers of Cormyr. --Eric

    Most mispronounced monster names

Guide to prouncing "drow": "Drow" rhymes with "bow" as "bow and arrow" or "bow down before the king." --Eric ;-) PS This joke works better in print.

    What was Alternity like?

First a caveat, I have only played Alternity twice, and I enjoyed it. My one critique (and iti's been a while, and I'm probably wrong) revolved around the character generation system. It seemed to me at the the time that the Alternity character generation system was "zero sum". In other words...

I Need Ideas for My Thayan Campaign

You might be able to reuse part 4 of this adventure, set in Thazalhar. http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/pg20011226x --Eric

I Need Ideas for My Thayan Campaign

Also, there's a whole bunch of plot hooks in the write-up of the Flaming Brazier in Powers & Pantheons (2e). (It's one of the fully detailed temples in teh back of the book.) --Eric

I Need Ideas for My Thayan Campaign

I would suggest looking at the write-up of Unther in the FRCS (3e) and reading the novel "The Alabaster Staff" for a more recent update. According to the FRCS, the Red Wizards have been smuggling resources into Unther, seeking to keep the rump of northern Unther free of Mulhorand. It's likely...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

Lots of little things, but that's the case with every book, particularly for me as I tend to overwrite. The major thing that was cut was the "Environs of Waterdeep" section. This is the major thrust of the web enhancement I turned in. I left this vague for space reasons, because it's only...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

I could only focus on so many churches, and I decided to focus on the ones indicated in City of Splendors (2e) as most important to the city. It may be a small thing, but I did indicate where the Pantheon Temple actually was, which is a small step forward from what we knew about it (which to...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

Good memory. They are indeed sample characters from the Complete Necromancer's Handbook (2e) who were explicitly placed in Waterdeep in that tome. Yolanda was a fairly straightforward port to 3e, and her info combined with Undermountain revisited article by Steven Schend in Dragon #227 or #228...

    Waterdeep - I've got it

Greetings, City of Splendors: Waterdeep is aimed at both the old guard and the new guard. By old guard, I mean anyone with the old products (e.g. RoU1, RoU2, Skullport, the Undermountain trilogy of modules, FR1 - Waterdeep and the North, Volo's Guide to Waterdeep, City of Splendors, etc.) or...

    Champions of Ruin Contents

Aumvor the Undying is the "greatest lich of the North" and dates back to brief mentions in Ed Greenwood's "Pages from the Mages" articles/book and "Lords of Darkness" (1e). Living Zombies are mentioned in the latter source. Neither Aumvor or living zombies have really been detailed before...
