Still confused by the character builder.

For the weapon thing with character builder, when you are on the character sheet area you have to right click the attack or damage workspace, when you do you can edit it for different types of attacks. Default is unarmed basic, but you can change it to say longsword basic attack, or even an...

    Race Elimination Round 1!

For me its the Minotaur. Enter big, strong PC with huge muscles #32451. Also roleplaying reasons you can't exactly enter a simple village and not scare someone straight away. I don't like many of the races in the MM anyway. Having PC races in the MM is something kept over from 3e but since a...

What's the highest level your regular 4e game has reached?

Most of the campaigns in our gaming group spend most of the time hovering in paragon tier and for the last few sessions go up to high epic tier. We like our characters to reach the pinacle of their ability through the course of the campaign then fight really tough enemies for the last few...

    Action points/milestones

A lot of people like the idea of action points, but not the implementation of milestones or use of items by milestones reached. I know the DMG says you don't have to always award only 1 AP but I'd like to see if we can get some ideas down to try to find the best and most fluid way for AP regain...

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

I was under the impression that there is no 'dagger' property but there is a 'spear' property and the greatspear does have it. So I'd say yes you'd be obligated to call a greatspear a spear for monk weapons.

    What 4e does right

I've enjoyed several things that's in this edition: Passive perception/insight: No more DM asking players about rolling to see stuff and less metaing (for my groups anyway). Steady hp progression: If your CON mod is not that great you don't necessarily die instantly from any hit. Less ways of...

    Problem players and you

Yea, I try to promote group play by having certain encounters needed the team to co-operate to cover all angles or puzzles that require more than 3 people to activate. It has started off as a military campaign so as you would guess the soldiers working as a team are more rewarded then...

    Problem players and you

I asked him later and he said he wanted to get the loot before everyone else so they wouldn't know how much loot there actually was. I have talked to the party a bit now, its basically the rogue trying to loot whore, he actually wanted to try and leave the mission to rob a city bank at one...

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

Don't know much about the hybrid rules, I don't use DDI stuff and only have the currently released power books, PHB 1 & 2, forgetton's realm and eberron. Incidently I don't know much about the psion classes aside from how the powers work, our gaming group only really only uses the books stated...

    Prone and movement powers?

As it states in the PHB errata for prone: "You can’t move from your space, although you can teleport, crawl, or be forced to move by a pull, a push, or a slide" If weave through the fray says "move" or "shift" then no, you can't use that part of the ability while prone. If it is a teleport...

    Problem players and you

Thanks for the replies guys and advice. I do agree to a point about letting the PCs do their own policing, however, I also believe its the job of the DM to make sure the game is fun for all the players. If a problem player is causing stress to the rest of the party and causing the players to...

    Problem players and you

We all know there are problem players in games, they will crop up in your groups again and again. Be it people that want to hog all the loot/spotlight, or the power player playing in a game where no one else is a power player, or just the player that never seems to co-operate with the party out...

Rain of Blood encounter power lvl 7/Invoker is too powerfull

Doesn't seem that broken to me, after all only the allies in the 5x5 square get the buff. As well as only the enemies in that square get the debuff. No more powerful than some of the warlord powers that grant +power bonus to all attacks for a turn/encounter. It is still a great power though...

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

Erm Ok? You cared enough to post? Its very rare people play epic campaigns anyway, I was just giving another example of cheese since we were on the topic. It was only really said in passing to show examples of something that I can probably guess is overused similar to sorc/daggermaster.

    quick question on invisibility

Well, if they aren't aware of each other's presence (i.e. hidden) and they are both invisible, I would've thought that you then consider the normal movement rules. Invisibilty doesn't mean you have phasing, this means that the 2 invisible creatures would collide, imagine 2 people blindfolded...

How often would you apply these bonuses?

Following on from what Nichwee said, applying the example of the OP: 5 soulshards, using these 2 abilities. A total of 6d12, and 10d6. Only problem with the number of dice is, how many attacks were there? Each dice isn't a seperate attack I'm guessing as that would be 16 attacks in one turn...

    Anyone play an assassin yet?

Silly question, which book are assasins from? Or are they a class currently underplay test?

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

Heh, going directly for the cheese? Only problem is none of the daggermaster abilities key off the storm power, or the heroic feat that works like weapon focus but for lightning/thunder spells. So does the 18-20 crit really outweight the extra lightning spells + making adj enemies take 2d6+cha...

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

Aren't sorceror's already proficient in daggers? I was thinking of just making it the highest enh 'magic weapon' possible to get the most out of dual implement feat. Eh, the group I'm going to be playing in is a bunch of power gamers, I ain't going to lag behind in damage :)

Interpretation of rules: Sorcerors, daggers and feats

Its paragon tier start so I will be looking to get it, though I'm wondering which PP to take, daggermaster has nice crit range which will go well with the epic feat later on that will max all my crit dice (sorceror storm mage feat). However lightning fury PP stays within the whole Ninja...
