    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Works great on iPhone. If you have both iPad and iPhone, be sure to stay in sync, which is manual. If you make any updates/changes on whatever device you're on, make sure to save it to iCloud. Then, next time you open the other device, be sure to load from iCloud. Now, back to iPhone: each...

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Turns out that was a brain fart on my part. I totally forgot that with finesse weapons you can choose to use either STR or DEX modifier. The app automatically picks whichever is higher.

    D&D 5E (2014) Best Virtual Table for 5E?

Curious what features Maptools has that Roll20 doesn't?

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

No ads. Also, I think the free version limits the number of modifiers you can add. I can't remember: I know I hit a wall on *something*, then upgraded for $2.99. (Also, that $2.99 covers both iPhone and iPad...) Now that I have it set up, spells added, etc., I really like it. It's very nice...

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Thank you! Not intuitive, but oh well. Wonder why they didn't just make a separate interface for it instead of burying it?

    D&D 5E (2014) D20 Fight Club 5e [iOS]

Is anyone using this app? Just downloaded it and it looks like it could be very helpful, except for one thing: I can't figure out how to add my additional skill proficiencies. The app shows the two proficiencies from my Background on the list of skills, but nowhere on the edit screens do I see...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best Virtual Table for 5E?

That's a good point that I forgot to mention in my earlier post. ONLY the DM needs to pay if you want the extra features (like dynamic lighting or fog of war). It's always free for players. It CAN be free for DMs, too, if you don't mind missing the extra features. There are hundreds of videos...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best Virtual Table for 5E?

I'm a big fan of roll20, particularly the paid version. I ran Lost Mine of Phandelver on there, and it was great. There's an excellent 5e auto-generating character sheet, and dynamic lighting is a killer feature.

    D&D 5E (2014) Good Introductory 5E Adventure?

Haven't started HotDQ yet, but from *everything* I've read, I'd say yes, that's about right. LMoP comes with the Starter Set, so nothing for you to track down. The SS books are the actual rules...they're just a small subset of them. BTW, you can purchase high-quality digital downloads of the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Good Introductory 5E Adventure?

Another vote for Starter Set/Lost Mines of Phandelver. For me, I will go so far to say I think it's the best starter set module ever released, surpassing even Keep on the Borderlands. It really is a fantastic introduction to 5e.

    D&D 5E (2014) Party composition with only 4 players

Thanks for the replies. We're meeting tomorrow to help everybody create their characters, so I'll wait and see how it plays out. I'll set up my bard to fill in any gaps.

    D&D 5th Edition Starter Set

5 out of 5 rating for D&D 5th Edition Starter Set I ran Lost Mines of Phandelver online at roll20, and found it to be the perfect starting adventure. Reason enough to buy the starter set, even if you already have the PHB and DMG. I think, in years to come, Phandelver will be appearing on plenty...

    D&D 5E (2014) Party composition with only 4 players

I hear what you're saying. They've all read the basic rules, and in email chats about classes, none seem to have any real preference...at least not that they've been willing to step up and declare. I'd imagine they'll all have preferences once they've played a bit.

    D&D 5E (2014) Party composition with only 4 players

    Thanks, that could work (bard/fighter/cleric/thief).

    D&D 5E (2014) Party composition with only 4 players

We're starting Hoard of the Dragon Queen soon, and it'll be me plus 3 other players. The other three are novices, only me and the DM are experienced players. Wondering what classes we should have the other three play. The rub is I really want to play a bard (preferably Valor Bard). Could we get...
