    Walking Dead season 2 (spoilers)

Well the show's been content to play fast and loose with the source materials, so all bets are off about how things will play out, but my guess is that they'll be back on the road, and a bit leaner population-wise, any episode now.

    Walking Dead season 2 (spoilers)

Oh I agree! It's a weak McGuffin for precisely that reason. If she were the only pretext for remaining on Herchel's farm, that would be one thing, but no one is really talking seriously about moving Carl at this point, and so the search doesn't really tie much together. I'm hoping that it will...

    Walking Dead season 2 (spoilers)

Sophia's a McGuffin that gives them a reason for a) staying at Herchel's farm and b) doing character exposition, particularly on Daryl, as the only one with the survivalist chops to pull off the search effectively (maybe Rick and Shane too, but Rick is distracted and Shane is rapidly entering...

    Zombie Walks

Zombie walks are bad strategy. When the actual zombie apocalypse, comes, how will people be able to differentiate ACTUAL shambling hordes of undead from the zombie walk crowd? You're just asking to be a snack lunch people!

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Beginner Unboxing

Got mine yesterday. Also very excited to get the chance to play. I think this has the potential to do what the old Red Box edition did for me when I was 10 or 11 years old -- introduce new players to the game in a very user friendly way. I concur -- home run!

I've Been Enjoying Dragon Age: Redemption - Episode 1 and Episode 2

I've enjoyed them so far and I enjoyed the DLC featuring Felicia. But as I said in the Dragon Age thread, I'm not yet convinced by her as an "action star." She seems to be playing basically a different version of her usual comic actress persona, but this time with elf ears. Mind you, I'm always...

The Walking Dead, season 2, starts tonight

The TV show may be departing from the comics in this regard. But it's also possible that they just hadn't reanimated yet. If it were me though, I'd be very reluctant to take that chance!

The Walking Dead, season 2, starts tonight

Oh yes. The airships were awesome! Wait, what are we talking about?

The Walking Dead, season 2, starts tonight

On further reflection, I do have to say I like what they're attempting to do with Shane. He made rather a hasty exit in the comic, but by bringing him along I hope that they are able to make him a richer character, and thus ultimately more tragic.

The Walking Dead, season 2, starts tonight

Overall a good episode, and a strong start to the season. I'm not sure there's much to comment on yet in terms of story development, though it does seem to be loosely tracking the graphic novels once again.

    Dragon Age 2

I just finished playing the "Mark of the Assassin" DLC last night, and thought it was excellent. Good action and fight sequences, good Role Play sequences, and a very fun "sneaking around" mechanic that I hope they incorporate into future iterations of the game. Story and acting wise, it was...

    Self-Preservation vs. Acts of Evil

Yes, I think we are in basic agreement.

    Self-Preservation vs. Acts of Evil

I dunno. Alignment discussions are difficult precisely because there are these differing understandings of how alignment is intended to function, and the degree to which a character's alignment is intended to convey something important about the character. If my DM says "no evil characters in...

    Dragon Age 2

Well, I guess I'm easily pleased. I recognize the flaws in the game that you mentioned, but they didn't affect my enjoyment of it to he point that I couldn't play it. As I said, though, I get the impression Bioware has heard the complaints and is trying to address it.

    Dragon Age 2

I've played through and enjoyed it twice. I agree there are some problems with it, particularly the continually reused terrain tiles. That said, I enjoyed the story and the characterization, and some, though not all, of the system changes from DA:O. From what I gather, the Bioware folks have...

Alignment Question - Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Evil?

I also think Steel Wind has it right, it's fundamentally a player issue, not a rules or alignment issue, and needs to be resolved with the other players. That said, the underlying CHARACTER actions are interesting. I agree with those who say that the barbarian's theft constitutes a CHAOTIC...

    SW rpg in ancient times

Yes, Old Republic Campaign Guide is your resource for all things OR Era. That said, if you didn't have the book, the easiest thing to do would be to simply hand wave it. The droids look a little different, but basically the same. The ships run a bit slower, but not so much as to radically affect...

    Self-Preservation vs. Acts of Evil

Yes, I'd say evil. Had he abandoned them, I'd probably say "chaotic neutral." If he had done it inadvertently, it may have been dumb but not evil. But the use of spells to target the enemy with no real concern expressed for those caught in the cross fire? Evil. The circumstance sort of reminds...

    Free beer!

In fairness, there was no personal pronoun, so the writer wasn't necessarily saying that HE had no use for beer, but that someone, somewhere, has no use for beer. Crazy to contemplate I know. I think it's a theoretical statement.
