Belts of X Giant Strength are pretty iconic, I think it's a fairly safe assumption that they'll exist in 5E. Nope, it's permanent. At 20 Barbarians get +4 to Str and Con and their new maximum for those is 24.

Are you saying every party will have all party members running concentration spells at all times? That sounds mildly hyperbolic.

It does beg the question of what a Belt of Storm Giant Strength is meant to do over Gauntlets of Ogre Power. Advantage on Str checks? Underwhelming. Proficiency in Str saving throws? Ditto. The cap isn't entirely firm, don't forget the Barbarian level 20 ability.

I don't plan on using these items in my game. At least, as-is. If they're reworked for the final DMG release (as the Bracers of Defense apparently will be) I might reconsider. I'd prefer if they only gave a +X bonus to the ability score rather than setting it. Or maybe items that set it, but...

I'm sure he does, but only the Monk with its intricate knowledge of Ki, anatomy and fine mental balance have the precision necessary to successfully target Lich 'nads. Does a Lich's staff have a knob on the end?
