Do you think there will be a game out there run once it comes out that has a 2014 normal fighter playing alongside a 2024 fighter that has access to mastery and all the fun toys in the new weapons list? For me that's the gauge if it's really backwards compatible.

I found out from ENworld that it is especially important to note if you character is wearing gloves or not.

My personal DM guidelines for me. 1) Having Fun is main reason to play 2) Setting immersion is super important 3) Consistent DM calls. 4) Overall Good "themed" story arcs with some gray areas (80-20%) 5) The hook or the turn are important story tools, but dont overuse them.

I'd just like to see some good cohesive writing for a change. If they mess this setting up, i dont know if they can be trusted with anything.

It's interesting to me that we are looking at if fudging the dice rolls for the sake of fun and moving the play along, but what if the DM does the opposite because they want to really want to dial in a challenge? Is it morally wrong for the kobolds that have had a AC of 15 all game to suddenly...

Everyone is looking for something out of a rpg, a good DM knows how to make these points intersect, while having fun themselves. There is no right or wrong way to do it, just what works.

I concur. I liked the marketing and look of the edge system, but the funky abstract dice turned me away.

But there are plenty of cases where that much money does ruin the person and their immediate family from theft, scammers, or just the implosion of having that much money and not know how to handle it. What we dont have extant examples of is what would happen if you showed up in a dark ages...

You dropped 2,000pp in a town that probably does not see that in a several years income combined income. Yet see no problem. I dont think there is much more to discuss. Back to why wizards need fixin.

Sadly, no use debating you as you're a money guy. But I guarantee if you throw that much money around every thief/scammer/thug in a thousand miles will be trying to get at you. Hope you hired the same muscle that Gates and Amazon dude hire.

Exactly, there are great narrative places to engage tracking but just not all time. But I wonder what DMs are doing to bleed off all the accumulated wealth? At least earlier editions had magic item costs you could craft and masterwork items.
