"My Pathfinder Spoiler" Glimpses At Pathfinder 2

Bear in mind, Gary Gygax publicly apologized for including psionics. There's a lot of people who don't like psionics (and have been vocal about it since they were introduced)

Pathfinder 2E What's Happening With Pathfinder 2E 3rd Party Licensing?

But is there going to a system reference document for 3rd parties? Paizo had the "Pathfinder Reference Document" or PRD which just had the open content from their books, but they killed that off in favor of a fan site that includes non-open content, which is basically worthless to publishers.

    Grimmerspace Has Launched!

I hope they add a stretch goal to have John Astin (aka Gomez Addams and his sort of father) write something.

    D&D 4E How To Clone 4E Using 5E Rules

This is actually not even a change. It's the same exact math, just stated a different way. (And TSR actually came up with Ascending AC as well, but they called attack bonus THAC when they used it in Gamma World)

Stephen Colbert to Play Mini Adventure with Matt Mercer of Critical Role for Red Nose Day

I really don't think it's a good idea for someone who is so strongly partisan to attach itself to a charity that is presumably non-partisan. You're going to turn off people from it, even if it's a good cause. (As mentioned "caustic" is a good word for his strain of partisanship) Would people...

    Favourite D&D edition that’s not 5E

Seems odd to have OD&D include B/X and BECMI, since both of those came out well after AD&D and aren't particularly close to OD&D, having race as class most notably and somewhat different monsters (no demons for instance)

    Thinking about an advancement system

If failure improved your skills, I would be one of the skilled persons on the planet. I never really liked how CoC/BRP did it. The idea (where you check each skill that was used in an adventure and roll to see if it improved) is okay, but in practice, characters rarely improved. I just hand...

Bethesda Comments On Accusations Of Plagiarizing D&D Adventure

Do we know if they even hired a writer? As I said in another thread, my guess is they probably coerced a tester or something into doing it

Bethesda Pulls Promotional Elder Scrolls D&D Module Following Plagiarism Accusations

What likely happened is that some people at Bethesda were playing D&D for fun and ran those adventures, adapting it to their game. They did that back in the Daggerfall days I know (only AD&D 2e back then). Someone from marketing says "Hey, let's release one of your adventures as a PR gimmick"...

Traveller 5th Edition Reprint Is Kickstarting

T5 seemed to me, to be just a much more complex version of T4 (I had no problems with TNE, other than the setting. It was basically just GDW's house rules at the time, which they had used in Twilight 2000, Dark Conspiracy, and I think Cadillacs and Dinosaurs.) Mongoose Traveller is what most...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

In retrospect, I wonder if it would have made more sense for Paizo to make PF2 5e based, something like Adventures in Middle Earth, with Pathfinder classes added to the traditional ones. I just don't see how PF2 pleases either 3e or 5e fans, only Paizo fans, and they'd buy anything from them.

Has Paizo ever talked about releasing their adventures in 5E format?

Seems like it's sending a mixed message. Re-releasing their best (or most popular) adventure path for PF2, but at the same time hedging their bets by trying to sell 5e players a monster book (for conversion purposes) rather than hoping they'd buy the PF2 rulebook.

    Shadowrun Sixth Edition Announced!

I was a huge, huge, huge 1e to 3e fan. 4e lost me and 5e turned me off as it was a bloated 4e (so it seemed to me). While this seems like a step in the right direction, I'm not sure...

    The Geek's Sophie's Choice

I would argue that none of these things are for geeks anymore, but are mainstream. At work, I have to listen to this one guy drone on and on about the NBA and NFL, but in between he drones on and on about Marvel movies and GOT Mentioned the Dunk & Egg stories (set in the GOT universe, but sort...

There's An Official ALIEN RPG Coming!

Tabletop RPGs now have "game modes"? And why would it possibly matter if they finish a scenario in a single session or not?

    Facial blindness as a flaw?

There's not a lot of Hackmaster talk here on ENWorld...and this sub-forum has now been re-named for Pathfinder/Starfinder, so

Anyone else finding their TTRPG spending going down for lack of interest/need?

I'm the opposite. What I loved so much about the d20 era was all the new people writing stuff, bringing in different ideas. The DIY aspect is what I love most about the OSR and ironically, I find somewhat lacking in 5e, thanks to DM's Guild allowing use of WOTC/D&D IP, rather than forcing people...

Clockwork Publishing to launch Crowdfunding for New Edition of DARK CONSPIRACY

Very nice. Much too rich for my blood, but as a fan of DC when it came out, it's nice to see it getting such a quality makeover/re-release.
