D&D 5E (2014) Is the Wall of Faithless in 5e?

The deities of the FR ARE petulant vicious children. The Time of Trouble series of books clearly explains that for all of existence NONE of the deities bothered to gather their faithful from the field of the dead where they awaited them. The deities just ignored them and the poor souls spent all...

D&D 5E (2014) Is the Wall of Faithless in 5e?

A side note, there is no such thing as FAITH "strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. " in the Forgotten Realms or any other DnD setting to be honest. Faith is belief when proof is impossible. Proof exists every day in a world...

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

Just a minor quibble here. You are the DM, I assume he started at 1st level or so and has played up to 7th level. At this point you should have some idea how the player will act in most situations and the player should have some idea of how you play as DM. You assumed he would stand tall and...

D&D 5E (2014) Tell me about your Adventures in Middle-Earth experiences, please

Middle Earth never felt like a setting that needed its own rulebook. Disallow certain classes, be very specific in the monsters you select and you can use 5E without problem. Most of the differences between ME and most 5E campaigns is over the game focus and style.

Consent in Gaming - Free Guidebook

The problem being the inevitable slippery slope. Makes perfect sense to ban statements of blatant violence, but we are human beings, we inevitably carry it to some stupid extreme far beyond what the first ban ever considered or even imagined. That being said I pretty much support...

Consent in Gaming - Free Guidebook

Maybe I am off base here but looking at all this brings just one thought to mind. If a person actually needs this book to tell them how to act then I do not want that person in my gaming group.

ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, The Cinematic Starter Kit (Free League)

I am guessing this is NOT a game where you should become attached to your character.

D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else feeling "meh" about recent 5e releases?

You are technically riiiight, but to do so you have to buy the entire hardcover which is a heck of a lot more expensive than the old soft cover modules.

D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else feeling "meh" about recent 5e releases?

In my opinion the only thing that bothers me is WOTC seems to constantly release large campaign books. I miss the days where there was large numbers of choices for smaller modules and the DM created a custom campaign by selecting unconnected modules of appropriate level. Too much now seems to...

    D&D 5E (2014) [5E] A Rogue "unnerf" - Extra Attack

I was thinking more of Nott the arcane trickster rogue that fires multiple crossbow shots per round.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Beyond: Tricking Asmodeus

Did not know that thank you.

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Beyond: Tricking Asmodeus

Considering how TSR screwed over Gary Gygax I wouldn't feel right for a Tharizdun mention without there being a straight statement that they were doing it to honor him and make amends for how their previous owners treated him.

    D&D 5E (2014) [5E] A Rogue "unnerf" - Extra Attack

So watching Critical Role, is it a house rule that lets rogues attack more than once?

    D&D 5E (2014) [5e] WOW! Displacer Beasts really ARE BEASTS in D&D!!!

We're you playing them right? If you remember to remove their displacement after being hit then a party should adapt pretty quickly. People hold action until the mage hits with an auto-hit spell or the player with the best chance to hit attacks. Wondering since forgetting that one aspect of...

Let's Take Another Look At That One Ring 2E Cover

Weird drawing. Why is the Hobbit and female dwarf holding drawn weapons and standing ready to fight while facing AWAY from all the baddies. Don't say they are fleeing, those are battle stances not run for your life stances. As for the female dwarf. Get it right and put a beard on her. Though...

D&D 5E (2014) "The Future of D&D is International" (Inverse article)

Well it really is a self imposed problem. No one is forcing people to live in the "cool" urban settings, they are making those choices when they do not have to.

    An idea for Ability checks

I am sure this is far from a new idea. It is one I have based on how I used to play the Star Wars WEG system. As the rules are played you tell a DM what you want to do and he tells you what check to make and you roll. I had an alternate idea for this. What if the player decided what check to...

Systems You'd Never Play after Reading Them

The LOTR game that was released when the movies came out. The rules books were just tons of glossy pictures from the movies and then bad rules that included advice to DMs like "see how the heroes in the movie don't really get that hurt, copy that".

How many 1st level Fighers can an 11th Level Fighter Kill?

Except in real life everyone knows that one well placed or lucky bullet and the guy who killed their buddy is going down. In DnD if they started with 12 and the 11th level just killed 3 then there are 9 left, end of next round there are 7 or 8 left and it goes downhill from there because the way...

Dragonlance Dragonlance Novels - How Many Are There?

I enjoyed the Legend of Huma. Thought it and Kaz the Minotaur were the best.
