How many 1st level Fighers can an 11th Level Fighter Kill?

Sure a squad of 10 to 13 guards are a threat if they are mindless mooks. Guards threaten hero. Hero threatens back. Guards demand surrender, hero charges and kills up to three based on rolls and action surge. Numerically and with reinforcements the hero will lose, EXCEPT guards paid 5 silver a...

    Historical Campaign Ideas

What historical events have you used as loose basis for a campaign and how did they turn out? I am considering creating a campaign based around the American Civil War but not sure on the details. My main quandary is the core basis of the war, slavery. Being DnD the obvious choice is to use...

Systems You Left after One Bad Experience

Robotech. The game was unplayable as the rules were written and you would think a 5yo wrote the books the editing was so horrible.

Stephen Colbert to Play Mini Adventure with Matt Mercer of Critical Role for Red Nose Day

It is probably just me. I really hate political humor, people who try to hide behind comedy and sarcasm so they can make blatantly biased political snipes at people on the other side. So based on this I consider him to be caustic and quite possibly a toxic choice for an apolitical event.

If you decide to move away from pregen characters then drop me a line. I would be interested then.

Stephen Colbert to Play Mini Adventure with Matt Mercer of Critical Role for Red Nose Day

Colbert? Seriously? So many other less politically caustic people they could have tried to work with on such a worthwhile project.

Resisting boredom, int or wis save?

Related question. Player creates a really low wisdom character who generally only thinks for himself, drinks too much, etc etc. Would you consider the occasional wisdom save for said character to avoid getting drunk during his turn on watch? Or something else equally stupid like falling asleep...

D&D 5E (2014) The Pilosus, a player race with 6 Genders for your 5th edition Sci Fi setting

We could since it is just Star Trek and we can ignore the absurd idea that the seeding by the Projenitors was barely alive amino acids that yet somehow evolved to develop humanoid life that look 95% like the Projenitor race. But then we are talking about Star Trek.

And yet it was contradicted on the series finale of ST:TNG. My point was arguing that multiple sexes makes sense and using engineered races as an example is incongruent. The Newcomers were a modified slave race, we don't know how much of them is natural and how much was done to them to make...

D&D 5E (2014) The Pilosus, a player race with 6 Genders for your 5th edition Sci Fi setting

The Newcomers were a genetically engineered slave race so they are not a really good example as for all we know the requirement of a third gender was nothing more than an engineered change made to control them as slaves, ie only those worthy as good slaves were allowed to reproduce.

Nope, not playing this game. You label me for not agreeing with you. That is offensive.

I am going to bow out of this conversation at this point. In reference to the original post, you can create any alien you want, you will just have to do some elaborate hand-waving or explaining what caused a 6 sex species to evolve or explain why a species would "genetically" modify itself to...

You are diverting to a political activist argument that really serves no purpose. For reproductive purposes, which is why sexes exist there are two options. To use crude language you are either a female and provide that requirement for reproduction or you are male and provide that requirement...

Except you just said the young would be left in the wild to live and grow until I assume they hit a certain age. This method of culling numbers 100% contradicts as the best example human scientific evolution which came from the combining of activities which allowed the creation of surpluses...

What species has more than two sexes? Did a quick search and there are species with multiple genders though I find at least some of the examples to be dubious at best. One example I read was of the coho salmon which suggested there were two male genders (still only two sexes male and female)...

That would not work with a society above the level of higher primates, assuming it would work for even them. Mentally development, at least for animals with more than animal instinct, takes more time than physical development. So your survival of the physically fittest will mean your society...

Fine, replace everywhere that I said gender with the word sexes. According to what you said it makes my intent more scientifically accurate. I would also surmise that most people on here using the term gender are using it with the intent to use the word sexes and the people intentionally using...

If one wanted to create a viable race that had six genders there are other ways one could do it. one way that will work in a Sci-Fi setting as a cultural norm or rules that have come into being as a method of massive population control or takes two organized group of six people choosing to fit...

From a REPRODUCTIVE view there are only two genders each with a specific see of plumbing designed to work with the plumbing of the other gender. From a psychological view one can discuss multiple gender subtypes based on lifestyle, genetic mutation, trauma, etc, but all those subtypes with...
