I agree, the numbering scheme just reflects a period of time. It's not necessarily game progress. I have to look at 2nd edition stuff and compare it to 1rst to see if it's really that different or if just alters some things. Maybe fix some misprints and such. foolish_mortals

I have no idea what the logic is behind the demons and devils HD in MM1. It is really interesting that some lower level demons have more HD than a balor. The arch devils seem to have more HP than the demon lords. Maybe it has something to do with their being fewer arch devils than demon lords...
