I think you nailed what I was really getting at with why you need all the different ____-lords because other classes have some of that already, so have the fighter version focused on attacks, and the sneaky one be the rogue(mastermind kind of already is) etc etc

Honestly my real problem is that he essentially wants this one class to do everything. There is not near enough flavor space for 10 _______-Lords. He is just trying to justify a second class when conceptually there is just not enough there

So in this scenario what is the warlords main stat because you have highlighted strength, dex, charisma, constitution, and int. Also some of these don't even make sense. What does a fear lord mean? What does a charismatic lord mean? What does a pacifist lord even mean? This is just word vomit...

I think honestly gishing is done best by either a paladin, or a Stone sorcerer with quicken and twin.

A lot of beginning monsters have negative saving throws for the mental stats, so that makes that unlikely. Also things like sleep have no saving throw

That's just one example. Even at level 1 having 6 spell slots for things like sleep or tashas hideous laughter or dissonant whispers makes challenging a party of Bards very difficult. For instance in Cragmaw cave in Lost mines the chamber where you can rescue Sildar 2 of them cast sleep to end...

Driftglobe is a really useful minor magical item. I played in a campaign where 2 of the 6 party members had darkvision and it legitimately saved our lives a couple of times

As an addendum to this maybe the reason that a lot of people seem to want to use them is that maybe they have more fun this way and can have more meaningful choices to create and flavor their character how thye like.
