    D&D General The Sales of D&D vs. AD&D vs. AD&D 2nd Edition

Started gaming at the start of 1978 with DnD and then 1st edition AD&D. One thing that quickly became clear to me back then was though the game was fun, the mechanics always left something to be desired for most of us in Southern California. We were always adding house rules, clarifying...

    When Brands Play Games

Yup, that section confused me as well. I was thinking, what about Pitch Black, The Fast and the Furious, hell what about Saving Private Ryan and Knockaround Guys?

2000AD Check out this map of Judge Dredd's Cursed Earth

Just snagged it. :) Looking forward to the physical copy, the Judge Dredd book was well done. My wife backed the Kickstarter for me at the time because I'd been hemming and hawing over it because I do tend to back a lot of Kickstarters. lol. Anyhow the pdf looks good as I'm glancing through...

2000AD Check out this map of Judge Dredd's Cursed Earth

Ugh, yep very very top of the page. I tend to look past that stuff on top and focus on the main page or the ordering info. Wow, talk about selective reading. lol Thanks Russ. Lesson once again to scan and scan again.

Heh, I did Russ. I wasn't clear if the pdf was included. Or I'm just being dense.

Carnival Row and the Changing Face of Licensing

That was exactly my take as well. Cynical? Maybe but I feel it's more about being realistic.

    Modiphius To Produce Homeworld RPG

Interesting, I actually was intrigued by 2d20, I own all the Conan stuff and some of their other rpg work. My problem with Modiphius is layout. I love the way the books look mind you, but I'm not a fan of how they lay out game mechanics and rules. They need a games editor to go through and make...

    AD&D 1E Dragon Reflections #26

Looking back, I thought I felt the way I did because I was young and just didn't get something that he was trying to convey. As I got older and would occasionally re-read the articles my opinion didn't change and actually as I became older I grew even more critical of his point of view. While...

    AD&D 1E Dragon Reflections #26

Loved Giant's in the Earth articles, always great fun. And per usual at the time Gary's musings in his Sorcerer's Scroll tended to annoy me. The System 7 Napoleonics never really picked up in Southern California that I recall. Most of those who played Napoleonics were really into their figures...

Worlds of Design: "Your Character Wouldn't Do That"

Great point and yeah GM's overriding character actions and thought processes is far more intrusive and actually not a good thing. If this actually is the main question of the poll, then I'd fall under the "it's not a common occurrence" area of things.

Worlds of Design: "Your Character Wouldn't Do That"

I don't consider it taking control of their character when I have to tell them "Your character wouldn't do that" or "Your character wouldn't know that". These are two things that I frequently deal with or have to nudge a player about. So yeah it happens frequently with some gamers who can't...

Crowdfunding News – Root, Under Hollow Hills, 3PP Pathfinder 2e Products, and more

Scavenger looks interesting. Thanks for linking it. I'm over my monthly gaming book purchases and kickstarter backings for this month but when the month rolls over I think I might add Scavenger to my backing. :) I think i'll just make it before the cut off.
