    Everybody Cheats?

I "cheat" in old school CRPGs by re-rolling stats until I get a heroic character. It's a single player game so doing that doesn't impact anyone else's fun. I also cheat by saving often. For cooperative games, I never cheat rolls as a DM or a player. As a DM, I'll often grant a free reroll in...

Keep These Tools in Your Real-Life Bag of Holding

While I prefer to use Fantasy Grounds at the table to track all of these things, I did see a very clever idea by the Beadle and Grimms folks that they used in the premium box. They used a folded card with the image of the monster on one side and the stat on the back that they could hang over...

Fantasy Grounds Adds Mongoose Traveller (1E) Support

That does look ironic, but it has more to do with issues at SmiteWorks that caused several starts and stops getting the rule set built to a professional level. Mongoose allowed us to build it many, many years earlier but our external developers kept drying up. We are hoping to release a 2E...

Fantasy Grounds Adds Mongoose Traveller (1E) Support

Hey Chris, I'm not that familiar with Traveller personally, so someone more knowledgeable about the full line can correct me if I misspeak. It looks like there are a fair amount of modules available for the 1E version in PDF format. http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/ebooks/traveller.html

Reload The Savage World Of Deadlands

I love Savage Worlds, but the book itself is rather boring. It's just the rules and rules are pretty boring for most people. For me, what I like is that is forms a central core for a very large list of unique and cool settings. There is... Deadlands (my favorite) Weird Wars II where you might...

Worlds of Design: How Would You Design For Spelljammer?

There are some great ideas here. Simplifying crew stats is great. How do you handle multiple classes of crews? Our players would occasionally pick up a set of marines or archers to go with the standard crew. Would they be added into one big crew pool but still available separately so you can...

Worlds of Design: How Would You Design For Spelljammer?

I liked the idea of magic powering a ship via the helm, but not at the expense of spell slots. You already lose a wizard because they are focused on flying the ship. Don't make the wizard useless when they finally step away from the helm too. I liked the idea of the phlogiston connecting...

Orr Group Q4 2017 Shows Large D&D Bump

I don't think this is the proper place for an in depth discussion of a product that is a direct competitor to the topic of the posting. The support email (support@fantasygrounds.com) is linked on the launch screen of the program and we would be happy to help resolve any crash situations you may...

    It's a Drizzt! "Timeless" - New Drizzt Do'Urden Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore

    It's a Drizzt! "Timeless" - New Drizzt Do'Urden Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore

I immensely liked the Dark Elf Trilogy and pretty much everything with Artemis Entreri. The later series where Artemis had to adjust to being an aging human assassin were really pretty good IMO. His reflexes had dulled considerably with age but he was able to make up for it with wisdom that came...

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

A game that runs weekly would get counted as 4 games a month. Our available statistics don't allow for us to count distinct campaigns. If a campaign skips a month, it wouldn't get counted for that month. That is why you see drops around Christmas, for instance.

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

No problem. Every data point helps for those of us that like to analyze and predict stuff in the industry. AGRaday Yep, DSA is The Dark Eye. It gets consistent numbers; however, we had trouble trying to find a community dev to work on making an updated release of the ruleset when they rolled...

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

I suspect Steam Charts is fairly accurate for recording game play for people who bought through Steam. If you launch from Steam or the Steam installed shortcut, it will know that you started it up and will record your hours there. There is also a separate listing for the Fantasy Grounds Demo...

Fantasy Grounds Game Stats for 2017: D&D 5E Up By 6%, Pathfinder Holds Steady!

I believe the numbers may be split across the CoreRPG, MoreCore and PFRPG rulesets. We are getting ready to release an official Starfinder ruleset under the SFRPG name this month, so we'll be able to sample those numbers separately. Also, I noticed that I sent Morrus the wrong table data that...

News Digest: WotC Releases, M:TG Harassment, Epic Lawsuit, Munchkin Games, and more!

I have some empathy for the kid and his family up to a point. They have essentially decided that their kid is right and the company is wrong, however, and that is where the chance for substantial monetary loss comes into play. If it was my son who posted something and received a C&D letter for...

News Digest: PaizoCon Harassment, Dungeon Tiles Reincarnated, WizKids and Warhammer 40K, Fantasy Fli

There is a Magic the Gathering Arena of the Planeswalkers boardgame that is pretty good. I ran it for some not MtG gamers and they loved it and then wanted to try MtG. Overall, I think Hasbro & Wizards have had a pretty good track record with boardgames. The D&D board games from Wizards were all...

    Paizo Roundup For 10-26-2017

*Please forgive the Shameful Plug, but it may interest a few folks here* SmiteWorks also just released two new conversions of Pathfinder adventure path modules this week for Fantasy Grounds. Strange Aeons #3 and Hell's Rebels #2 were just finished up and released. If you already had them in...
