    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

The problem with RAI is its utterly DM dependent. Vague and poorly worded rules left for the dm to figure things out. RAI is a design failure - it leaves players to guess at what they meant. For something like this, its so obviously worded like garbage. Its not hard to see how clumsy it is...

    D&D 5E (2024) You're not planning on getting 2024 D&D? Why is that?

Honestly, they changed just enough to sell more books. Its not really backwards compatible at all, because it requires all sorts of dm futsing to decide how each thing works together. Beyond that, they failed to address any real issue and just complicated things. Play above level 6 is still a...

    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

Wow, this semms really really bad. So someone can step into the bushes and "hide", then walk in broad daylight with zero cover from anything and stroll past 100 people undetected. They can't even notice the rogue, because you need to choose to make a perception action to attempt to detect them...

    D&D 5E (2014) Legendary Resistance shouldn't be optional

Oh, I didnt say they succeded at it, but dnd clearly tries to make melee stronger than it reasonable should be compared to someone who can throw comets and fireballs. Its this wierd videogame logic that all characters should be equal, even though someone with a knife shouldn't be able to do as...

D&D 5E (2024) Missing background ability score combination speculation

do you even play dnd? Dex doesn't matter for people who want to hit things in melee? Are you just a bad ai bot?

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

Excluding cantrips to keep this simple as we really care about leveled spells. At 5th level an aberant mind sorcerer knows 13 spells. 6 normally and 7 from its subclass. At 5th level a wizard knows 14 spells. Notice the 1 spell difference? The wizard cannot have all 14 of those spells prepared...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

I note your only comparing to old wizards from other editions. Not a 6th level sorcerer with thier piles of bonus spells. If you did that, you'd see that wizards don't actually have more spells.

    D&D 5E (2014) Legendary Resistance shouldn't be optional

I agree that keeping something stunlocked isn't that fun. However do note your statement was to turn casters into only damage dealers...

D&D 5E (2024) Missing background ability score combination speculation

Wrong? Ac, initiative, hit, damage, and one of the 3 main saves are all dex. Simply that there is a use case for str doesn't make dex not the most powerful stat.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

aye, I don't understand all the wizard hate. People have this idea that wizards know all spells and can do everything. Ignoring wizards have no method to get new spells without dm handouts, and cannot switch spells during the day. Plus white board scenarios of lvl 20 wizards in perfect...

    D&D 5E (2014) Legendary Resistance shouldn't be optional

whats the alternative? The game bends over backwards to try and make melee as powerful as magic (when logically it should not be). Just take away all conditions? That makes casters just damage dealers, more homogination and loss of fun in the game as everything gets dumbed down even more?

    D&D 5E (2014) Legendary Resistance shouldn't be optional

A good way to counter the LR problem is to not have the bbeg be 10x stronger than her minions. Have a more complex fight instaed of just 1 person for the party to surround and stomp. It feels terrible as a caster to get to the BBEG and know you will spend most the fight doing nothing and being...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

plus the fact that at lvl 6, a sorcerer can have more spells than a wizard does. Unless your dm is handing out free spells, the wizard will in fact have less spells going by 2/lvl

D&D 5E (2024) How many of you would implement the drop to 0 HP, get 1 level of exhaustion house rule?

2 levels seems better than 1. The idea that you can just keep virtually killing someone is pretty dumb. Give a dying person 1 hp and they are as strong as full hp. Then they take massive damage and almost die, and get healed 1 hp again to restart the cycle. I'd say 2-3 levels of exhuastion...

D&D 5E (2024) Missing background ability score combination speculation

I think this would be more interesting if stats were more interesting. However dex > everything. Its such a horribly made stat that is just to OP. A str based character is strictly bad vs dex. Same with Wis vs int. If wizards didnt exist, int probably wouldnt be a stat anymore, there are like 3...

Critical Role Is Critical Role Scripted

I imagine its like improv. They have a general idea and have practiced, but each time it comes out different. In the case of CR, they choose characters and actions that bring drama or reactions they think the audience will like. That doesn't make them "bad", improv is a skill. CR are obviously...

Critical Role Is Critical Role Scripted

I dont think its fully scripted, more that its a performance. This is a show that provides them most of their income. CR is a big business, they all make several million a year from it. So all decisions and actions in game are based upon playing to the audience.

    D&D 5E (2014) Legendary Resistance shouldn't be optional

I would disagree. LR as HP is only for bad DMs. Good dms know that a fireball is whatever. Your BBEG has 2 boatloads of hp to make the fight last longer. Good DMs save LRs for spells that have an effect that isn't simply some damage. Or if the player uses their biggest damage spell over the...

    D&D General Killing Gods

Thats the point. Why should the PCs be able to fight a god? The very concept is stupid. The gods should have infinite hp. They are a GOD. It should be impossible to fight them.

    D&D General Killing Gods

arguably you can only kill a god if they let you. Show up with all sorts of magic gear, and the god says you weren't born, or turns the ground into lava and you die instantly, or removes all oxygen from the area and you suffocate. Or maybe the god makes you decide you never wanted to fight them...
