    Level Up (A5E) Relative balance of A5E vs. O5E

    I think part of it is that in o5e, those power builds kinda just let you actually DO interesting stuff. Polearm Master, Great Weapon Master, Crossbow Expert, etc etc all let you feel like you're actually doing something and actually playing into the power fantasy in a way that usually only...

    Level Up (A5E) A5E LU vs. PF2e ++

    There is! Anything that takes 10 minutes, like recharging Focus Points, repairing shields, and healing are all Short Rest activities, it just annoyingly doesn't strictly codify it. Much more in line with 4e's actual Short Rest than 5e's Short Long Rest and Long Long Rest.

    Level Up (A5E) Is the Warlock the king of at-will damage?

    It was actually one of the devs responding to you on Discord

    Level Up (A5E) LU Archetypes / 5e Subclasses

    Don't know many off the top of my head, but worth mentioning that Hexblade Warlock got absorbed into base Warlock through Pact of Blade. With the new Archetypes you can replicate the Curse as well but it's less central to the Class. It's one of the few I'd say absolutely avoid entirely because...

    Level Up (A5E) Is the Warlock the king of at-will damage?

    Thirsting Blade and Eldritch Scythe do not stack, it's one or the other

    Level Up (A5E) Is Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition compatible with D&D 5E?

    They can, it's just to a5e's detriment because so much of o5e is a broken mess. Which a5e sought to fix. It's like vacuuming a room, dumping the bag out on the carpet, and then complaining when people insinuate it's not clean. Honestly your players sound like the type that loved 3.5, I'm...

    Level Up (A5E) Is Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition compatible with D&D 5E?

    So you have a highly optimized group that broke the game and their interest was not in the character concepts themselves, but the mechanical superiority they have. That group not being interested in a Level Up is definitely a notch in the Positives column I think.

    Level Up (A5E) Silly powerbuilds

    I think you're forgetting about the Strength Requirement for Heavy Armor, as well as the (technically optional) stat prereqs for Multiclassing. Easy build to make you pay for xD

    Level Up (A5E) Is Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition compatible with D&D 5E?

    A chain is only as strong as its weakest link, and o5e has some BRITTLE links when it comes to balance.

    Level Up (A5E) Is Level Up: Advanced 5th Edition compatible with D&D 5E?

    This. For Martials they are Classes better balanced against Spellcasters, but if weighed against o5e "balance" they are well within the balance range just crossing the Martial/Caster divide. For Casters, I haven't looked at them as much, but a lot of the new stuff they got seems cool and...

    Level Up (A5E) You know how we're redoing layout for the Regions in TnT?

    Ohhh it's the pdf set to do that, I thought I'd messed something up in my reader! I have a vertical monitor that's ideal for reading pdfs but terrible for two page spreads xD

    Level Up (A5E) A5E LU vs. PF2e ++

    PF2 and D&D 4e are absolutely my Tactical Fantasy games of choice. I downright refuse to play o5e for reasons mechanical and moral. It sucks having to be like "Hey, play this super tactical game if you want me to be able to join in", it's unilateral and unfair. Level Up serves as a perfect...

    Level Up (A5E) Rangers, strangers, dangers...The good, the bad and the ugly of LU5E's rangers.

    The best way to make the Ranger the best of both worlds would've been to design it along the same lines as the Adept and Warlock. Then it'd only be as exploration focused to the detriment of combat as you wanted it to be.

    Level Up (A5E) Relative balance of A5E vs. O5E

    Best solution I can think of would be for Spell-less classes, give them Maneuvers based on what Class makes the most thematic and mechanical sense. Then let them pilfer the Social/Exploration choices of other classes that haven't been taken yet. If they're a Martial built in line with o5e just...

    That was my understanding, it was one of my first questions when I first found the project :D

    Level Up (A5E) Adepts Can't Catch a Break

    The buff to Two Weapon Fighting also seems to have put Flurry of Blows in a really awkward spot. Seems to only be relevant levels 1-4, then only useful if you're wielding a two handed Adept weapon? Which is nice when it applies, I know Glaive Adept certainly has my attention, but 1 Exertion for...

    Level Up (A5E) Opinion - Booming Blade? Greenflame Blade?

    I always felt like o5e made it clear those were viable through like, Level 1 Hexblade or Druid's Shillelagh but kept it locked behind options you needed to cheese.

    Level Up (A5E) What are "Subtle Changes" in LU?

    I noticed this last night and it made me so happy :D Glaive Wielding Adept is one of my fave concepts, and that's possible RAW now. Speaking of Weapons, the addition of Saber as a Rapier equivalent slashing weapon I really love, as well as giving Bastard Sword Parrying. Makes it feel more useful...

    Level Up (A5E) Relative balance of A5E vs. O5E

    This. This is what stings the most for me. There's cool stuff like the Blood Hunter, Warden, and Avenger (Hey, Warlord wasn't everyone's favorite 4e Class xD) that now I'm sad aren't built with the versatility of LU as the benchmark. Thankfully balance wise, using an existing Classes Maneuver...
