    Pathfinder 2E PF2 Peeves

I think the healing concern is a little overblown. My party’s level 11 characters that have about 3-4 invested magic items each have between 7-12 resonance left for healing. Considering how much higher level potions and wands heal for i think the 5 minute adventuring concerns are a bit...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2 Peeves

There is a 12th level fighter feat that allows you to skip that and always have shield up. But yeah basically fighter only. However in this game 2AC is vastly more important than it was in PF1. You can argue that it’s even OP, since it’s the only way to get really high AC. As for classes and...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2 Peeves

Lay on Hands auto heightens, so the healing is quite high at high levels. It is slightly better than 1e with the feat, especially since it gives you an AC bonus. I do agree they’re a bit overloaded on the AOO front (having easy access to 3 but having to balance it with no ways to get reflexes)...

    Pathfinder 2E PF2 Peeves

I'll have to see in regards to the level of monsters, but in our first session a party of 5 (level 4 characters) took out a Treant which is a level 8 monster with noone dying. Action economy is still king in solo vs party encounters. In the next session I had a Elite Green Hag plus a bunch of...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

As for the edition wars I think too many people here have this thought that the final game is done and have basically said this is the shipped version. While I disagree with many of Jester's criticisms (but agree with others), if you opt out of the playtest than you opt out of your influence to...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

I honestly can’t see how one can compare PF1 and 5e and see in both games a game where mobility is encouraged until you get to level 6 and suddenly the best thing for every martial class to do is to just never move. It makes boring static battlefields that are just a slog. No one can move...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

From Paizo's post gencon twitch stream. I copied some text from the reddit article. https://www.reddit.com/r/Pathfinder_RPG/comments/96eoiz/paizos_post_gen_con_twitch_stream_upcoming/ A few notes not mentioned in another text comment. Ancestry: The changes to ancestry have been mainly because...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

They've said for longbows they are considering removing the volley feat and then give agile to shortbow. Which would make shortbow better for iterative attack classes, perhaps being a better choice for a class like Ranger. I can understand that even though the math pretty much works out the...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

I was more referring to the people who keep on bringing up edition wars and business strategy stuff. On the character generation stuff I do somewhat agree ancestries need work. I find it odd that stuff that should be part of what a being is are being added on later. I do agree in general with...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

Respond to some of your points. 1. Screening is a +1 to AC. Hardly crippling for any offensive character. (compared to the +4 it was in PF1) 2. In responds to suffer that's why I said hyperbole. If you want to play a martial character in 5e then you "suffer" immediately if you're not a...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

Lots of hyperbole again from people who have not played the game and likely never had any intention of playing the game. Now that I've DM'd about 5 hours of game over 2 nights I feel like I have more to add now. Our group enjoyed it a lot and is moving over our PF1 game to PF2. We spent the...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

Power level on everything is a bit down. I think most of the Paladin hate is they went from the strongest offensive physical dps class (melee or ranged just because of smite evil) to a more defensively orientated class. They still do get a couple buffs to damage so they might still have higher...

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

I think you'll always want your class primary stat to be maxed out, just like you do in PF1 and 5e. So starting with it being as high as possible (18) and then put all 4 points into it, leaving you at 22. Then going up to 24 if you got the magic item for that stat. Since getting your to hit high...

    PF2E POLL

I don't think the buffs stacking is really an issue anymore. Sure the numbers are higher from the proficiency bonuses but right now PF2 is even more restrictive in what can be added to rolls than 5e is. In regards to the proficiency spread, it has been shown here on the board and on the forums...

    PF2E POLL

There has been some initial feedback from Paizo on feedback they’ve gotten. And it’s basicslly what I thought. Most of the feedback has been on character building and a bit on resonance. The character building has been on things like exclusivity of some skills and feats as well as tweaks to...

Two thoughts on Pathfinder 2e playtest

Yeah I think it’s a solid one. 5e you can stack stuff, but it’s very short term and takes decent resources. PF2 the resources are a bit more open, but the math comes down to one person one buff. (Because all buffs are a single type, there is no 5 different types of buffs like PF1 where you did...

Two thoughts on Pathfinder 2e playtest

Yup except the example for bonuses/penalties given by ccs is 5e. Right now since every buff in PF2 is conditional 5e is actually worse with modifiers than pathfinder. You can stack things in 5e that you can’t in PF2, and the two systems have mostly the same buffs.

    Pathfinder 2E Pathfinder Playtest conversion

Yeh how they’ve done it makes it trivial to remake 5e bounded accuracy. I would not be surprised if that was presented as an optional rule in the final rulebook.

It’s LAUNCH DAY For The Pathfinder 2 Playtest!

I converted 3 of my players characters over to 2e last night (level four versions from when they were lower levels). I had read the rulebook and did use hero lab online for it. It took about 20 minutes each to remake their characters. The sorc was very easy, the fighter/paladin I remade as...

    PF2E POLL

I could see them knocking untrained down to -3 but I think they don’t want more than six or so. I could see these arrays working for TEML (-2,0,1,2,5) - make legendary so much greater since it’s rare. However this will make high level fighters and wizards God’s so I don’t think his is likely...
