    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

They are GWM martials using primarily a Greatsword with 20 Dexterity so they can use a bow well too if for some reason they can't get to the target. If you are building casters for this I think you want Bards with Spike Growth, Otilukes Sphere, Etherealness, Time Stop, Blink, Mordenkanians...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

If by better you mean more powerful you are right, if by better you mean more fun in play I would disagree.

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Agree with this. I will say if you optimized 4 full casters, building them specifically for this arena against 4 Champions, I think you could win this, but 4 casters built for general optimization it is not really even a contest most of the time.

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

If they are my "horde" I would. As DM no.

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

RAW each of the Skeletons can take one of the following actions on its turn: Shortsword* Shortbow* Attack (with a Weapon or Unarmed Strike)* Dash Disengage Dodge Help Hide Influence Magic Ready Search Study Utilize When you get down to it that is a pretty complex list of options end-to-end with...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can A Spell Caster Out Damage a Martial Consistently?

Champion is arguably the best subclass in 2024 and I think Champion, at this level, is hands down the best subclass for this particular endeavor. Superior critical + Heroic Inspiration + extra fighting style beats anything another fighter subclass is going to bring. You might be able to beat...

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

This thread illustrates the difficulties with this discussion. On one hand we have people arguing for less minions and the other people advocating a "fix" that is a spell that creates a horde with one casting.

only a caster can do this! 😛

D&D 5E (2024) The Undead Army Necromancer is not Designable

I think the key to good class design is being fun to play, and that is how I evaluate class mechanics, not just for me but for other players. Personally I have never played a Necromancer, but I have DMed for high level necromancers and had other players playing them at the table and they...

D&D 5E (2024) Heightein Spell and Innate Sorcery are Insane!

all the classes are significantly buffed in 2024. That said my general opinion is a multiclass tailored for your particular campaign, table play style and level range over the campaign are more effective than single class characters at most levels.

    D&D 5E (2024) Which class to take level 20 in - Ranger 13 or Bard 6?

So I am playing a multiclass Green Dragonborn, level 19 is Fey Wanderer 12/Monk 1/Druid 1/Glamour Bard 5 S8 D16 C12 I8 W21 CH14. Feats are Shadow Touched (Wrathful Smite), Dragonfear, Wisdom ASI and Boon of Spell Recall I am debating whether to go to Ranger 13 or Bard 6 with her last level...

D&D 5E (2024) Interesting play with a high level Eldritch Knight, how would you rule?

I am DM in a game and one of the PCs is a level 19 Eldritch Knight. Several things came up in play today, one of them is debatable, the others I am pretty confident I got right RAW, even though it is pretty OP. Situation 1: Party is fighting a bunch of Baelnorns (custom undead elf). The...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun, problematic content, and 5E…

For those people who say there is a market and WOTC won't suffer if they published it, how do you explain the Hazodee fiasco or the Volos Orc PCs iasco? Both of those were certainly less "mature" than Darksun and WOTC faced a ton of pushback for them. There was a market for both and Volos by...

D&D 5E (2024) Snarf's Complete Two Weapon Fighting and Grappling Guide

Monks are awesome at Grappling. The best class I have seen since the 2024 rules came out. There are a few reasons for this: 1. The Punch and Grab part of the Grappler Feat is ideal for Monks. Sure any PC with the Grappler feat can do it, but others have to make a relatively weak unarmed...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun, problematic content, and 5E…

I don't think playing that way is a problem at all, do what you want at your table. Heck the game has had hard core racists and homophobes that have played and enjoyed it. In the Dark Sun game I am playing right now my PC is a Human who eats Halflings (mostly because they captured and tried to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dark Sun, problematic content, and 5E…

I was trying to say the opposite. To clarify - My position: "In a historical book or textbook no [it is not a problem]. In an official publication of an RPG yes [it is a problem]." Poor wording on my part.

With the same CO2 emissions per capita and roughly 100% more people, you end up twice as much CO2 pollution coming from people today than from people in that time period, and this is before we consider other greenhouse gasses.

No they didn't. Boomers were children in the 40s, 50s and 60s. Plastic use was not nearly as widespread, it wasn't until the mid 70s that the first commercial plastic bottles came out and it was not until the mid 80s that plastic bottles were starting to be used on a scale comparable to glass...
