What does D&D mean to movie goers?

I still haven't watched WW84, but agree he's been good in the movies I have watched that he's been involved in.

D&D General Which Aspect of DMing Do you Struggle Most With?

Do your players try bringing this up? So far I've left that to evolve with the game I initially didn't expect more than a couple of sessions, but it got to the stage I felt like I was stretching things trying to keep up. Must have done a good enough job as it encouraged the other dm in the group...

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

Would Hawk the Slayer count too? I have the Mythica series along with Conan the Destroyer and thoroughly agree about the Conan sequel being a fine d&d movie!

D&D General Which Aspect of DMing Do you Struggle Most With?

In the one I ran I took some inspiration from the Neverwinter mmo and the 4e sourcebook on that setting. And initially was going with the Mage's Guild trying to turn the city and kingdom into a magocracy only rather than a few sessions leading into the shadowfell I let the players actions guide...

D&D General Which Aspect of DMing Do you Struggle Most With?

Unsure. Initially I realised I didn't know as much about 5e as I should have and much of my time running the game was trying to keep up to date. I created my own monsters, npcs and treasure in an effort to make the game more distinctive. I'm far from feeling like I'm reasonably competent, but i...

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

I could see Vin Diesel inviting them around for an impromptu game! I'm not sure if that would count as a movie, but I suspect it could be streamed!

    D&D General Why defend railroading?

This is only a problem if the person running that game nor their players can't adjust the game to fit their idea of fun. Now if even a little alteration is problematic with that adventure then you'd be right. Fortunately we have a lot of other adventures some going way back to the original red...

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

And since then? In recent times they have grown somewhat unable to recognise decent writing and seemed more intent on something that really isn't profitable. But yes mildly surprised, I'd be happy if they didn't have that particular problem.

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

I'd ask about Stormhawks and the various Conan the Barbarian, He man and other series like the Legend of Zelda or that Captain Z animated series, but I think that's just as dated as the 80's animated series...

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

How about Dragon Prince or the Avatar the Last Airbender series?

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

Some were actually good or do you remember the D&D movies so far? I'm not arguing I just think they would make a better advertisement.

    The Bad Batch - SPOILERS

Sorry in retrospect I feel this should be spoilered.

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

Ideally have them re-release the classic D&D cartoon series and maybe Thundarr the Barbarian series if they can to promote interest. Maybe a few articles on d&d beyond to highlight it so they can have articles to point towards that as it gets gradually filtered out until they're ready to...

What does D&D mean to movie goers?

Depends where they're planning to go with this and whether their script is any good. Even Star Wars actually only worked because of the editing and the support helped maintain that quality into the following movies that make up the OT.

    The Bad Batch - SPOILERS

For the record I thought she might be turned into Winter, Leia's companion from Legends, but would be 10 by 20 BBY and not born 19 BBY. It just struck me as a possible way to integrate her character into canon beyond the Bad Batch series. So definitely not.

D&D 5E (2014) Would handing your party 1,000 gp at character creation break your game?

Can it count as a trinket? Will it be a family heirloom one the character shouldn't sell and if they try will be arrested and jailed for carrying something that by all rights they shouldn't be carrying? I'd make it a plot point and make it very important with it not being able to be sold so the...

D&D General The Problem with Evil or what if we don't use alignments?

So how do you differentiate between those that were cursed for their actions and others cursed purely out of malice? Do we have to provide two or more different alignments to cover that character or society's viewpoints? So the Lawful Good Noble born Paladin is Lawful Evil when dealing with...

D&D General Dungeons & Dragons Teams Up With HarperCollins for Young Adult Novels and Graphic Novels

Not stupid at all, I doubt any of those could keep that kind of story straight without altering something to fit their purpose.

D&D General UPDATE: this isn't greenlit : Jeff Grubb's Lost Mystara Sourcebook To Be Released

Made me wonder what if something was swapped out for the Magic Initiate or some other feat? Elven weapon proficiency to go along with that Warcaster feat someone suggested to use a weapon as a spell focus?
