You can also cap scores at 18 or 16 (if you want that old +3 bonus max) and then remove ASIs.

    D&D General 1e feel for 5E

But what if you can get the “1e feel” you want in less than a page. I mean the OP would take about half a page

    D&D General 1e feel for 5E

The post and the OP reminded me of what my experience with 1e AD&D was like, except in almost the completely the opposite direction. Our games in the 80s and early 90s looked nothing like what is described here. Just goes to show there is no one way to play 1e AD&D or any edition really

You’re just wrong if you think that they don’t have standing.

Most evidence disagrees with that thought though. 5e was popular immediately, before critical role came out. However, I will agree that a lot of factors contributed to 5e’s success.

D&D General So what about the SRDs?

I don’t know if your trolling, but if not, it is clear you don’t know what your talking about. Someone could make a dubious legal claim, sure. The difference is all the biggest software companies (and more) would band together to smack you down. That is not the same situation that the OGL is in.

If 5e is the child friendly edition, I don’t believe that personally, then it has been a huge success - the biggest ever for D&D it seems

Probably Lore changes, art changes that kind of thing.

And what is WotC narrative. I don’t know if Crawford has been interviewed yet, but Perkins straight up said he is retiring from DND. It was his choice, but he wanted to do it. Is there any good reason for him to sell another narrative?

Number of subscribers is public, at least it used to be. Last time I checked, he didn’t have that many. That being said, I believe Mike has a job working for another company doesn’t he? I know he’s doing his five step on the side, but I believe he has a job.
