D&D General Would It Matter To You if D&D Books Were Illustrated by AI Instead of Humans?

My 2c: i started a topic some time ago in order to understand the reasons to have artworks in rpg books. The outcome is that while for settings and/or modules there is a true need (to transmit the feel and the mood of an invented venue), for a rule book i am still looking for a good reason...

    D&D 5E (2024) One D&d and alignment: new approach

I read some time ago a post (likely not here, but honestly i do not remember where it was!) where it was explained that with one d&d the alignment will be replaced by a new feature with a completely different mechanics (devotion iirc). Is this the end of one of the most underrated and unusued...

    Artworks in an RPG

I agree! But if this is the pace, soon we won't need of anything but a connection to an AI server... That is sad... I really looked for comments about the picture i posted with no bias in order to understand what is the road already done and what is the road left to be done... It is both...

    Artworks in an RPG

Back to the original discussion: i post here below an image... I'd like to hear from you if this could be a nice artwork in the chapter of a setting where the underground cultures are explained, in parrticular those of the mighty dwarven cities beneath the earth... Your opinion is welcome!

    Artworks in an RPG

Oh please! That is a map... That cannot be considered an artwork and it is ridiculous to neg a book for a map... It would be similar if i start to say that you have an awful avatar and therefore anything you write on these boards is crap, that would be extremely unfair towards your person. Re...

D&D General When D&D Co-Creator Dave Arneson Asked WotC For A Job!

The Rigg's article is one of the saddest pieces of news i read about my hobby... It's nearly incredible how life can bend and take directions no one can foresee... I have a mix of feelings for Arneson going from pity to shame... (And pls consider that i deserve him the major credit for the d&d...

D&D General Dave Arneson: Is He Underrated, or Overrated?

Sticking to what are the reported facts, Arneson had the vision of the new model, Gygax wrote it down... Both are creators, none would have done the game alone. Then if we need to appoint one name only as the "true" creator, this is an opinion and it is subjective according to the info...

Online communities more important than in-game interactions to get into RPGs

It could also be a matter of age... Young novice players are more comfortable in the online world to better understanding/searches than aged novices. In any case i do see the relevance of online tools: the socialization within a group of a TTRPG passes also by a step done in forums or online...

Online communities more important than in-game interactions to get into RPGs

I found this abstract very interesting: https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/10468781221119829 The author is giving more importance to forums and online communities than interaction at the table for those who approach for the very first time an RPG... This aspect may bring to some...

D&D General The Biggest Problem with Modern Adventures...

Maybe it is a bias I have: i do not see anymore that feeling in modern adventures... Sorry, an important detail: i am mainly referring to PF and 3.5! I don't know so well 4E and 5E to express my opinion.

D&D General The Biggest Problem with Modern Adventures...

IMHO i do see a problem worse than thr lenght/scope of current megamodules... Being an old gamer i miss that part of "poetry/romance" which was present in former plots... It is smtg really thin in terms of definition. let me try to explain it: in some old modules, the story, the hooks were...
