What are you running right now?

I'm running D&D 5 on Roll20 for our group at the moment. Descent to Avernus (with some modifications) is the adventure. I know it has some flaws (as do most of the modules), but we're really enjoying this one. Lots of great roleplay. Can't wait to see how it plays out and which direction the...

D&D General Most Memorable Party Win

Not a party "win" this time, but still remembered and talked about. 2nd Ed, party is exploring a dungeon. Random encounter, the mage decides to show off. Casts fireball. Forgets to calculate volume, so the fireball backblasts into the party. Mage shrugs his shoulders - what's 6d8 damage? We're...

D&D General Most Memorable Party Win

Hi all. Just curious as to what is your group's most memorable "win"? Was it a random encounter that turned sour? A Boss fight that was truly epic? A lucky die roll that completely up-ended the carefully planned campaign? Mine came way back in 1st Edition. I was running the original I6 -...

D&D General How strict are you with vision in your game?

I'll have to look into it. We are all new to Roll20 and I'm running Descent to Avernus. Not certain if I can do that with the module, but it is worth taking a look. Thanks for the suggestion.

D&D General Retrieving Arrows after a Combat

That's the way it is with my current party - unless they simply can't retrieve them (shot 300+ feet away, into water, off a cliff, etc), then it is simply considered retrieved and mended. The players track how many they have and can mend. Simply not worth worrying about otherwise for us.

    Miniature Organization

I bought a few of these in different depths/sizes and then labelled the front. Elves, Orcs & Goblins, Humanoid Monsters, etc. Different groups based on what I figured was best for me as the DM to be able to grab the appropriate figure quickly if needed.

D&D General How strict are you with vision in your game?

When in person, I draw out the entire room or length of corridor on the battlemap, but will place enemy figures only if within line of sight. If the encounter is outdoors or generally unobstructed, the distance to view an enemy is much greater (a bit more realistic, in my mind). Currently...

D&D 5E (2014) Most Humiliating Way To Go

Just remembered another one. 2ed again. Random encounter in the outdoors at the campsite. One party member, fearful of attacks from above, had chosen to sleep under one of the wagons. Didn't help him much that Ankhegs were the random encounter that night. :ROFLMAO:
