WotC Walks Back Some OGL Changes, But Not All

No deal for me. Either OGL1.0a stays or more people will be out. There are very few people publishing PF1e products and I support them, but with the 1.0a being revoked, they can't produce any of that now. Sucks everyone else gets to have their favorite system, whether 5e or one of the other...

Rumours: WotC Announcement Today; Insider Email Reveals Plans

Can we just give some spotlight to the irony that the last time D&D was in a huge wreck was largely because of Lorraine Williams and now it's in another massive debacle no thanks to, in large part I'm sure, to Cynthia WILLIAMS...?

    D&D Movie/TV Paramount+ Orders 8-episode D&D TV Show

And I won't watch it and give it a terrible review to help undermine Hasbro

OGL: What Are The Publishers Saying [UPDATED]

At this point, even if the OGL1.0a stays and isn't revoked, the damage is already done by just looking at what the fear of it alone ha caused all these companies to do. Either way, this leak ruined the entire community.

OGL: Kobold Press 'Raising Our Flag' For New Open RPG

But I like 3.5e and its derivatives...guess those are gonna be gone forever huh? No more what little support is left to get for PF1e and support for 3.5e is all gone. I hate the TTRPG companies. One day...if I ever hit that billion dollar lotto...I'm bringing back 3.5e and find a way to buy...

WotC Ex D&D Beyond Staffers Criticize Relationship With WotC

I'm pretty sure those people can easily find jobs in the non-D&D market, especially since those publishers will absolutely need more workers when they receive the massive influx of customers ditching Wizbro and giving their wallets to these other publishers instead.

Ryan Dancey -- Hasbro Cannot Deauthorize OGL

Pretty sure if it were taken to court, a judge would rule against WotC due to the fact that every single company had every right to believe under the pretense that WotC couldn't revoke it. Intent matters.

The OGL -- Just What's Going On?

Red Wizards of the Coast now :ROFLMAO:

Paizo Paizo News- Changes to Errata Process

Love to know why it took them 13 years to come up with the "twice a year errata" policy. It feels like these TTRPG companies think as slow as the damned Ents in LotR

RPG Evolution: The Dragons Come Home to Roost

Ugh. D&D has had such better quality and much more quantity than before it got popular. Miss the good ol' days.

WotC Hasbro Bets Big on D&D

Miss the days when it wasn't so popular, we had awesome products and editions like 1e and advancing to 2e and 3e. Then everything went to crap with 4e and 5e. Forever gone are those days. Sure wish I can wake up one day and see a new 3.5e book for sale, but I'm living in the wrong reality...

D&D 5E (2014) Rebalanced Tyranny of Dragons Coming In January

They do this NOW? After I'm already done running through Hoard of the Dragon Queen with my kids practically? They're at the end of it almost, I'm still shocked at how they decided it was ok to put an adult white dragon as an encounter to do, that one is definitely a TPK.

D&D 5E (2014) Chronicles of Eberron Is Keith Baker's New D&D Book, out now!

That's because WotC produces almost next to nothing while letting the DMs Guild make everything. At this rate, what's the point of buying anything from WotC directly? I'll just get the DMs Guild content.

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

This is such super old news. Like, it got to the point where anyone knowledgeable enough in D&D lore already accepted it as a proven theory that they are one and the same anyway. Even if WotC stated otherwise, many of us would continue to regard the two as the same being anyway, official or not...

    Worlds of Design: Spelljammer 2.0

We should have stayed back in 3.5e, when the books they released actually had a good amount of fluff and crunch AND we still had Dragon/Dungeon Magazines as supplements. Nowadays...Zero Calorie D&D is proving to be what I always knew it would be...110% Hype and 1% Substance.

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

That just shows terrible creativity and lack of worldbuilding because should said player/PC looks into the reasons why, then the DM has no choice but to answer. If the lore is isolated to just a region and a DM handwaves other worlds/planes/gods etc., that's different. But if the established...

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Pretty much what Perkins made a big announcement about. So I'm curious, now, for the in-game reason why there are orcs in Krynn (because of the Half-Orc race option). Or if they actually do plan to follow Krynn lore, why there isn't (which begs why when we are literally seeing D&D do this...

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Did Gruumsh just not bother expanding? Did the gods of Krynn hold Gruumsh back? Saying there just isn't doesn't do anything for worldbuilding. It's the equivalent of telling a child "Because I said so." When we have things like portals and Spelljammers and all other ways to worldhop, it's a...

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Careful. Don't let 5e customers hear orcs being phrased as savage now. :sneaky:

Dragonlance Dragonlance Creators Reveal Why There Are No Orcs On Krynn

Ok, that's the real-life reason. What's the in-game reason? Pretty sure that's what people were really asking.
