D&D 5E (2014) The Next D&D Book is JOURNEYS THROUGH THE RADIANT CITADEL

Well, there's another reason for me to never touch AL!

Yeah, exactly. I know canon matters a lot to @Henadic Theologian but the D&D 5E team has essentially said "Only the core books are canon, go have fun!" So yeah, the idea that you can only worship FR gods in the Domains of Delight or this book because of AL rules seems decidedly silly.

Yeah I'm pretty sure Adventurer's League isn't exactly representative of official canon, it's just a vehicle for organized play. Never played AL myself, but I'd be pretty surprised if AL DMs really care if you change the name of the god for your PC if it's functionally the same.

I don't know if folks have pinned each adventure to their author (and likely cultural inspiration) yet, so I'm going to try and piece it together! Salted Legacy - Surena Marie (Thailand) Written in Blood - Erin Roberts (US Black South) The Fiend of Hollow Mine - Mario Ortegon (Northern Mexico)...

I wouldn't call this grimdark, but it doesn't seem light either. Candlekeep Mysteries had a range of tones, I expect this book will be the same.

For those who want to look at the art, Sage Advice has compiled it all here; Sneaky peek at the incredible ART of 'Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel' ! My favorite piece is this below. I assume this is China-inspired, but whatever it is really intrigues me about these new worlds!

Then I guess I do. But normally, when people say "marketplace of ideas," they're complaining about being ridiculed or ostracised for saying bigoted things. See the New York Times' recent editorial that essentially called public shaming the same as government's restriction of free speech (which...

I actually ran most of the adventures (stopped at the end of the Scrivener's Tale), so I can give my thoughts on running them. 1. Never thought an index was necessary here. Yes, most of the adventures are mysteries, so if you aren't well-prepped you can easily lose track of info. But the...

Look, I'm not wasting my time "debating" racists in the "marketplace of ideas." It aint my job to convince people. Everyone's got the right to free speech. Someone wants to say racist doo-doo, fine. But free speech also gives me the right to call them ****heads too, and that doesn't invalidate...

I lived in Toronto for 11 years, and I can safely say I've never seen a raccoon painted blue fly away with fruit... never seen it sober, that is.

Yep. If Sigil is NYC, I'm happy to imagine the Radiant Citadel as Singapore, Dubai, or Morocco. Plenty of other big hubs in the world, and they don't have to all look the same.

Ugh. I'm still surprised folks use the "marketplace of ideas" as an excuse for people to say lies, racism, and all the other awful things the internet can spew.

D&D 5E (2014) What D&D Product Can Be Seen In The Crystals?

I very much agree that a Planescape book should be about way more than just Sigil. Heck I want material for cities like Dis too!

I'm still reading through this thread so someone has probably addressed this, but; The Spalljammer UA is not being published in this book. There are no racial options being advertised here. The alternate cover is certainly not the alternate cover teased, with Boo (the space hamster) and a...

D&D 5E (2014) Next OAR might be Giants? Goodman Games Original Adventures Revisited #7 might have a codename!

Goodman has done a few "Classic Covers" articles, and although they at times are meant to promote an upcoming product, are mostly just fun articles. They've done Lord of the Rings covers, HP Lovecraft covers, Conan, Moorcock, etc. So this is probably nothing, or maybe just a "Hey, saw the...
