    Hustlin' Wizards: A homebrew ACF

Okay, so does the spelltrick affect the action? Obviously, they're using magic to enhance a skill, and some skills it's actually a worse option to use a skill trick (jump for example). I guess, I should ask how you imagine the spelltricks working 'in-game'?

    Hustlin' Wizards: A homebrew ACF

Well, if you can only use one slot per skill, that'd minimize the abuse (though I say that with a many grains of salt), and maybe let the benefit apply to just a single check or for a short duration, like 5 minutes. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry about all those variables. Like I said, maybe I'm...

    More leadership?

I'd change the bonuses to +4 and +2 respectively. None of my players have ever used Leadership so I don't really know how much of an effect letting a cohort's level equal yours would have. My initial reaction though is not to give that increase, if only because doing so makes me think of them...

    Hustlin' Wizards: A homebrew ACF

That sounds really interesting. I'd expand it to include Charisma-based skills, unless I'm misunderstanding what you're trying to accomplish.

Does this mean there's no way I can add a link into my signature? I figured I'd post here instead of starting a new thread.

    Autumn Kingdoms (Homebrew Setting Design)

Autumn Kingdoms Dwarfs So, here's the base race for dwarfs in the Autumn Kingdoms. I know that they look a little weaker at first glance than standard races, but the culture benefits will make up for that. They're not much different form standard dwarfs. I removed all the benefits that seemed...

    Making firearms more important

Alright, that sounds good for Overwatch. I'd say put them into their own section, if only because that makes them more noticeable and implies they're more important.

    Autumn Kingdoms (Homebrew Setting Design)

I actually think I am going to use Pathfinder. I like the changes they've made to skills, the skill list, and combat maneuvers. I'm not worried about them being more effective than standard 3.5 classes, since I only need to keep balance within what I use for the setting. Even more so, the more I...

    Making firearms more important

The only problem I see with this is that using a ranged weapon usually provokes an attack of opportunity, so a character can fire on someone who's attempting to fire on him, and then does that usage allow an AoO on the character taking an AoO? I still think it's neater and less complicated for...

    Making firearms more important

Y'all posted while I was busy typing. That sounds more like a readied action. I want to shoot at this target when they break cover for any reason. Overwatch isn't the same thing. Overwatch is more generalized, like Morrus says; it's more like a readied action to shoot anything within a...

    Making firearms more important

Suppressive Fire looks good, but here's a few considerations, depending on how 'realistic' you want. The first is that part of what makes suppressive fire effective is that you risk damage from the suppressive fire itself if you break cover. As it stands, I'm not seeing any reason for someone...

    Autumn Kingdoms (Homebrew Setting Design)

Hello everyone! So, I've started working on a new setting. I've retired my old setting which was mainly used for freeform roleplay instead of actual tabletop campaigns and I'm starting fresh. I have some ideas and I figure starting a thread on here will give me some feedback as I work and maybe...

    Making firearms more important

On the subject of overwatch/readied actions, I find that players don't use them for two reasons: there's no obvious benefit and they forget about them. Both problems have the same solution for me, using readied actions for their enemies. If their enemies are taking cover, using suppressive fire...

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

Something I've considered doing with prestige classes, is lowering the entry requirements, making them a little more generic, and running them like advanced classes from d20 Modern. Most of those where 3rd or 4th level entry. My thoughts were make the classes generic so that they represent more...

What are you working on? (Playing, GMing, desigining, etc)

Despite a 7 week old son and 5 classes this semester, I still manage to find time to do things. Playing: Space Marine on X-Box 360 If the wife has her way, I'll be getting back into WHFB here soon, though I'm trying to talk her into 40K instead. I want the new Necron models. Freeform...

using wish against the party - what does a dm wish for?

In that position, the obvious wish to me would be for the cultist to wish for 'the power to defeat my enemies and hold my position as favorite'. However, what form that takes would depend: on the cult, the cultist's personal view on power, and, if it were my campaign, upon the will of the...

    Parallel Universes

I'm looking for sourcebook I came across a while back, years ago. It was on parallel universes, sharing similar concepts with the Jet Li movie 'The One' and was printed for either 3.0 or 3.5. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

    GEOMANCER: It's Cheezetastic?

Alright. This isn't exactly what you asked for, but it's near enough as I can tell. The Mystic Theurge does not grant spells per day. It has a class features which functions in the exact same manor as the Geomancer's. It does not gain that benefit, it only gains additional spells per day...
