D&D 5E (2024) It Is 2025 And Save Or Suck Spells Still Suck (the fun out of the game)

Suggestion was reverted to 2014 by group consens. Tasha has a save every round as it should have. The problem spell was suggestion here. My suggestion: all spells need to have a save every turn. There might be a few exceptions: Some spells might have a 3 step resolution: fail 3 saves for...

D&D 5E (2024) Using general Feats when your ability is already 20

Our best armored character (cleric level 4, AC 22, up to 24 using a reaction) just stole the spotlight by being hit with a 19, 14 damage (with a d10 weapon) and a crit for 23 damage. So yeah, although she will probably won't have that happen to her in the long run, she now has a run of going...

D&D 5E (2024) Using general Feats when your ability is already 20

Looking at the highest relative increase is dangerous. If you increase your hit chance from 5% to 10%, you have a relatice increase between 50% (only damage dice) and 100% (only static damage or being a champion). That means you go from sucking to sucking a bit less. If you have 4 attacks or...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

I really like the Psion as presented. Feels like a great class.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Actually I do like it a bit. I mixed it up with the class created before which had a tactical focus area or something like that. How was that called?

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Because a champion is a pure fighter. An eldritch knight is a wizard light. Uses the spell subsystem. A psi warrior, if the Psion gets through as is, will be a psion light using the psi dice subsystem. For symmetry reasons, a battlemaster should be a warlord light, using the same subsystem as...

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Sorry. No verb. An adjective ("more" presumably. Could also be "less") . My bad.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

You miss a verb. I also heavily dislike that kind of marketing. If you feel that is a point, there is no point at all.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Not bad. Instead of stratagems I would wish battlemaster combat maneuvers. No need for another subsystem (rally is already a copy from the battlemaster).

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Yes. And I think the warlord should get those maneuvers. And a little less fighting prowess themselves. Maybe no fighting style (leading style instead), different subclass. No action surge or second wind and so on. There is a lot of room there.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

I think I can build a cleric replacement as a battle master already... Or as a warrior of mercy monk. Every 4e class had powers in the same manner as a spellcaster... So how is that a no-go?

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

I am not sure about that. Lets say 50-50. I agree. The bard now even lost rapier proficiency. Actually that helps the str bard a bit, as now the best finesse weapon is the dagger... And +1 on every later feat will make you think about having 17 cha at character creation to get to 18 cha at...

I did not shoot him, for sure.

D&D 5E (2024) Not a fan of the new Eldritch Knight

In 25% of the combat. So it is less than a 10% boost. There are other ways to boost performance by 10%.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

I do like the battlemaster as a warlord substitute. But at some point I asked, if I wanted a class that is more adept in battle master maneuvers. And since we get a full psi dice mechanic using class, I think it is time to at least try a class based around battle master superiority dice. I want...

I don't paricularly like the marshal.

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

I specifically said suporter, not healer. Although thwre already is nonmagical healing. I can see a bard that is nonmagical too. But when alll wounds disappear over night, we already have nonmagical healing anyway. See above. I liked the purple dragon knight of SCAG. It was too weak. But it...

    D&D 5E (2024) Chance for a warlord?

Ok, as you probaly know, I am not the biggest warlord fan, but hear me out. If the psion gets through playtest, I see a real chance to get a full warlord for 5e. Why? Psion is a full caster, that builds upon the psionic dice mechanic that the psi warrior already uses. The warlord could expand...

D&D 5E (2024) Not a fan of the new Eldritch Knight

Still it is not the most important thing. 20 dex vs 10 dex against static initiative just means you get an extra turn with a 25% chance. So if you do 4 attacks that is one extra attack on average.
