    D&D General Cold based adventures?

The eternal winter as written is ridiculous, and I always lower the timeframe to 6 months at the start of the adventure, not 2 years. 2 years and everyone is dead already. Remorhaz are in it. Its strength isn't the survival/travel elements, which none of the official 5E adventures do well...

    D&D General Cold based adventures?

The overarching plot of Rime needs a DM to fix it so that it doesn't feel disjointed; those repairs are pretty easy to make (but definitely needed). Also, the dragon attack in Chapter 4 is a mess from a design standpoint (but again, easy to fix). However, the ground-level detail work in Rime in...

    D&D General Cold based adventures?

Best one I've DMed is Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden, which can also be cannibalized for short, modular adventures very easily. @M.T. Black has a good one called Bastion of the Frost Lord: https://www.dmsguild.com/product/217132/Bastion-of-the-Frost-Lord--Adventure

D&D 5E (2014) Are some Fighting Styles worthless, and how could they be fixed?

I’ve found Interception to be excellent in the hands of a tactically solid player. In tier one and two play it frequently completely negates or trivializes attacks on vulnerable characters. It’s particularly useful for paladins who otherwise have little or no use for their Reactions. It’s way...

D&D General How is Lore & Legends?

It's just too soon I guess. I'm not sure what I was expecting, really. I wasn't expecting the level of candidness that we got in Art & Arcana, but I was expecting more behind-the-scenes info than we got, and more genuine info about how the sausage was made. Considering how (relatively) critical...

D&D General How is Lore & Legends?

It isn't, but they don't. There's an interesting section about the D&D Next playtesting period and how it worked. Beyond that, you can go back and read the public-facing marketing copy created for every official release from 2014 through 2023 and you'll have read basically the same info that is...

D&D General How is Lore & Legends?

No. It breaks down that it's just all really awesome.

A Look at the New Deck of Many Things

Received mine yesterday. The deck is gorgeous and the book is a great DM resource kit. For me, this and Keys from the Golden Vault are easily the two best official 5E publications of the past 12 months.

D&D General How is Lore & Legends?

It's a gigantic piece of ad copy, explaining how all the things that happened with D&D in the past ten years have all been the best things ever, and how you can't really choose which publication in the past 10 years is your favorite, because they are all your favorite - even the stuff they...

    D&D 5E (2014) We Would Hate A BG3 Campaign

Pedantic, but this isn't actually accurate. In addition to Githyanki, other non-PHB race options in BG3 are: Duergar - originally from Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, later reprinted in Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multiverse Deep Gnome - same as above 3 Variant Half-elves - from Sword Coast...

Dragonlance Dragonlance Nexus - DMs Guild Product Schedule and Richard Knaak Partnership!

Does anybody know what has become of Champions of Krynn Chapter 1: The Mystery of the Lost Patrol? Doesn't seem to be available on DMsGuild. EDIT: Nevermind, I see that it is included in Tasslehoff's Pouches of Everything!

D&D 5E (2014) Finally getting a full size map Faerun

To be fair, it’s hard to imagine a person who is casual/new enough to be confused in that way, and yet invested enough to purchase the deluxe boxed set version of this D&D history product. The map is meant to be a companion to the book it comes with, which is a 5E celebration book, not a...

D&D 5E (2014) Finally getting a full size map Faerun

I have the map from the fancy Legends & Lore set. The westernmost thing on it is the isle of Tuern, way out in the Trackless Sea. Across the northern border are (west to east) Sea of Moving Ice, Reghed Glacier, The High Ice, The Great Glacier, and Peluvia. Across the eastern border are (north...

D&D 5E (2014) Saving the Childrens Menu by Deborah Ann Woll, her first published adventure.

It would be REALLY interesting to see the designers try to do this sort of in-depth walk-though with some of the larger official adventures, because one wonders what would happen when they come up against having to discuss the stuff in the book that flat-out makes no sense as written.

Critical Role Call of the Netherdeep playthrough commentary [spoilers]

If you have Lost Mine of Phandelver (the original version) I would definitely recommend that as a better bet for a new DM and new players.
