    Realistic Combat that's Simple(ish)

In real life, part of winning a battle is engaging in strategy and tactics that skew things to be unfair in your favor. Sometimes that's stealth & ambush Sometimes that's attacking the enemy's logistics so that they're cold, hungry, or otherwise impaired It may be that a "fair" game system...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

I agree with the majority of that. I both understand and support measures that protect people from discrimination. Though, I would also add that -from my own point of view- there is an important difference between a govt saying that you cannot do something (i.e. discriminate against a...

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

And I agree with that. However, it was, as I understand in the comment to which I replied, stated/implied that a business owner has no right to decline business. I'm of the belief that consent should matter.

Itch.io is shadowbanning or deleting NSFW and LGBTQ content

Is it your view that you cannot choose with whom to do business? I'm asking because I am not sure that I understand how that position exists among the community simultaneously with members of the community stating that a game company should have chosen to not do business with an individual...

Some games do have that. Things like shock can occur. PCs could have advantages that mitigate or eliminate that (or they start without such advantages and gain them). It's surprising what the mind can normalize.

    Can you count?

I see where I miscounted. 😄 I sketched it out with a thick marker. Misread the lines of my own handwriting. I had the idea of how it worked.

    Can you count?

44 Edit: Looks kinda like a Base 4 number system, expressed across 3 rows. 0, Left (1), Right (2), T (3), 4 moves to the next row When you get 4 more, the original 4 on the left gets bumped to the right. Repeat; bumping to the next row when necessary.

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

I feel that $50 is reasonable for a boxed set with this much content.

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

Sure, I get that. Currently, companies aren't trying to make something illegal into something legal; their position is that they're not doing the illegal thing at all. @Nikosandros made a good point about writing something saying that video games cannot be licensed, only sold. If something...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

I'm sure there's a way to write something that covers that. I'm simply pointing out that a ruling or an opinion about game ownership doesn't mean a whole lot when companies say that they don't sell games -they sell licenses. I'm not in any way defending what contemporary companies do. I'm...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

How things went with 4E is what I had in mind. I'm not familiar enough with D&D Beyond to know how a D&D Beyond subscription would be seen as something different than the subscription to the 4E tools.

    Kickstarter: GURPS Mission X

My guess would be that it depends on what you want to do in game. Multiple pillars of play across multiple types of campaigns. There's a lot of variety across X-Com's tactical warfare, Stargate's Sciency Planet Hopping, Alien's Sci-Fi Horror; etc. Currently, I can only speculate based upon...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

Earlier, I posted a quote directly from Steam. Similar to Steam, Playstation network operates in a similar way. The license agreement you agree to when purchasing a digital game specifies that Sony retains ownership and can revoke access under certain conditions, such as if the game is removed...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

I agree that laws are win in the end. At the same time, owning a product and licensing a product are two different things. A law written about buying and selling a product (change of ownership) may not mean anything at all when it comes to purchasing a licensing agreement. A thing and a...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

I don't disagree with that. Though, what I'm saying is that I'm not seeing how a ruling about buying a game influences companies who maintain that they are not selling the game -and are instead selling a usage license. Edit: For example, many of the games that you "buy" on Steam are purchased...

    Kickstarter: GURPS Mission X

That appears to be what this product is. I agree with @Nikosandros that Dungeon Fantasy can be daunting. It starts at a high point level. (I find that After the End is a better product for learning/teaching the game.) Some of Douglas Cole's previous products were geared toward faster...

Yeah... lately, I've been having issues with getting embedded links to work. I edited my original post. The link there now seems to work. I agree that Douglas Cole does solid work. I'm very interested in seeing more about this project.

Mission X is a project that popped up on my Kickstarter feed. Mission X by Douglas H. Cole — Kickstarter https://share.google/d2UUqRxeBPHzwXGGF Given that I've seen a little more GURPS conversation pop up recently, I thought some folks here might be interested in checking this out. Quoted...

EU Vice-president says once a video game is sold, it is owned by the customer.

Fair enough. Someone expressing the opinion that buying a game means owning a game doesn't dispute a company saying that they are selling usage licenses and not game.
