I doubt there would be any official rules for something like this in 5e with how rules sparse (ahem) light it is. They would just leave it up to the dm so probably something like disadvantage, or maybe hlaf the damage dealt to the swarm is dealt to the player as well.

Same here, Aasimar was definitely my favorite race. Though since there is atleast sortof an Aasimar already it's probably more important to work on some other races people really want.

We aren't discussing casting spells with a two-handed weapon, we're discussing casting spells with two separate weapons.

I think the item can work with a shield, as pukunui mentioned above the monk and barbarian both have similar class abilities but it specifically specifies not allowing shields with the monk whereas it says the are allowed with the barbarian, so unless it says no shields I'd allow it.
