D&D 5E (2014) Can a two weapon Fighter cast magic (Eldritch Knight)?

It depends if it requires a somatic (and possibly material) component. If it does have somatic no, but if you can pick spells that don't have somatic components it should be fine. Other than specifically taking spells without the somatic component or the DM creating some sort of special magic...

D&D 5E (2014) Should rage ignore exhaustion while you are raging?

I don't remember the exact effects of the varying degrees of exhaustion, however I think it'd make sense for one to ingnore two or three levels of exhaustion while raging. It makes sense that you see someone who is so tired that not even hte bloodrush and adrenaline of battle can negate it, but...

D&D 5E (2014) New setting idea: What if potions were permanent...

This sounds awsome! Though I agree it will probably take some work. Maybe in order to keep both temporary and permanent potions the only difference is quantity. Something like standard potions are a quarter cup where as to get it permanently you have to drink a quart within a certain period of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Encumbrance

I did, and I'm playing a character who is (pretending) to be a merchant. Plus ivve bought and am carrying every item I think id have from my background so ended up totalling up what was somewhere between 50-100 items. Only reason I can bring all this stuff (despite most of it being small things...

    D&D 5E (2014) A Primer on Creating Organizations

This looks AWESOME! I'm totally asking the Dm of the campaign I'm in to implement something like this. Currently as part of my backstory I'm part of a merchant's guild to help with my fake identity (I'm and arcane trickster and accidentally took something in my youth so people are trying to hunt...

    D&D 5E (2014) DM: overwhelmed with creatures

This is what I originally meant in my post, but Saeviomagy put more eloquently:

D&D 5E (2014) What aspects of play do you most enjoy?

In D&D this is basically what i enjoy most as well, I love the logic/puzzle parts, though I rarely get to actually do them in the campaigns I'm in. If the world had any sort of flavor I think exploration would be my next favorite because in any sort of game that allows the slightest bit of room...

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

You say that Sharpshooter makes you deal way more damage and end the fight faster- which it might, but what sort of damage would you be doing without it, 'cause like someone else pointed out while it can greatly increase damage on hits depending on what your damage is with out it it still may...

    D&D 5E (2014) Valuable Stuff

I just had to comment on this, things along these lines are the whole premise to why my character is with the party and it sounds really similar to my character. I'm an Elven rogue who is pretending to be a merchant who happens to be handy with knives (part of my back story is extreme distrust...

    D&D 5E (2014) DM: overwhelmed with creatures

I think what he is talking about is that while the MM states an exact number for each monster that is the average hitpoints it would have based on it's hit-dice. So looking at the hit-dice you can see the min. and max. hit-points it could have and keep in mind that range for the "wiggle room."

    D&D 5E (2014) Genasi Speculation and Predictions

I figure it will be one "Genasi" race with four subraces as that's exactly the feel of 5e, though I have no idea what the shared traits could be. I also think they'll be "plane touched" or mostly human with elemental ancestors, same as Tieflings and Aasimar.

    D&D 5E (2014) Handling Grenade-like Weapons with AoE/Splash Damage?

This is exactly how splash potions worked in PF, though with the new bounded accuracy causing ACs to lower I might reduce that some (5-7 maybe)

D&D 5E (2014) Where does the punitive approach to pc death come from?

I've mostly just played 3# and PF, we've always done overarching stories (like return to the temple of elemental evil as the current) so starting from level one just just would not work for us, we do however make new characters start a level lower than the party.

Sounds like you came up with an excellent solution, well done.

    D&D 5E (2014) Mage Hand Legerdemain...

I love mage hand Leger domain - and so far we haven't even come across any traps! We've only had two sessions but so far I've used it to: Try and steal a party members trinket without him knowing and offer it as a peace offering to the giant sent by a god to attack us because of said trinket...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dropping Flyers Cheese

Yep, you got it. So far I've started that campaign three different times. One was with my longest lived character and inspiration for many names of characters since, Zeldor an elven 9th level sorc, 1st level cleric (a mistake) that made it maybe half way through (not certain). I also played a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dropping Flyers Cheese

In one fight ( I don't remember if this was 3.5 or if we'd switched to PF already) we caught a dragon in a moathouse, I tried to convince the DM that I could cast web on it and it would adhere to it's wings (at the time it was hovering in air make a dust cloud to blind us then attacking when we...

    D&D 5E (2014) Humans!?

I would like to o further build on the discussion of humans and other races being genetically different. In the real world humans closest relatives are apes which we share 99.95% of our DNA with and we are incapable of interbreeding. The fact that humans and elves, dwarves, etc. Can interbreed...
