Sword World to Get Official English Translation

Yup, and also rebuffed Jim Henson when he wanted to make a Dark Cryatal Setting, and dropped the ball on official Lord of the Rings D&D...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Illuminated Ima bit surprised but they never mentioned new Species in any of the early material touting what would be in these books, and this article simply confirmed that.

    Are Ghosts Real? (a poll)

Exactly, it is an epistemological method based on sifting rhe experiences of other people. Question is, who do we trust?

    Are Ghosts Real? (a poll)

Yes, sort of. I believe in Purgatory, and that the souls of the departed can and do interact with us on their journey. But that isn't really necessarily "ghosts" as conceived of and depicted in pop culture.

Maps Feature on D&D Beyond Becomes Free to Use

Nope, not that: Hasbro juat had their Quarterly earnings report, and D&D is app9doojg very, very well.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Yup, I double checked, and the flying city was destroyed in the Sundering novels, and the Shadovr have not been touched on since 2014...so it will be interesting to see if they are addressed here. Wouldn't be crazy for "Shadovar Remnants" to be a Faction or even PC Background.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

IIRC, in the Catyclysm which led to the 5E status quo, they blew up their city and it crashed into Myth Drannor, which is the megadungeon at the heart of the Dalelands. I might misrember the details, but they certainly blew the Shades up and didn't ever really clarify what happened (since they...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

The whole Shades thing has been in a kind of Limbo since the end of 4E, ao it is going to be interesting to find out the "current" state of the Dalelands.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Juat moving the Subclass progression around doesn't quite accomplish fixing the Classes. D&D cannot, probably should not, do this sort of root and branch redesign. What makes this particular system stand out from other rethinking of D&D style game, however is...how closely it adheres to core...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

None. There are explicitly no new Species options, though apparently they go into lore but FR specific cultures like Gold vs. Shield Dwarves. Sounds like fluff only, though.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

D&D has history and precedent they really honestly need to adhere to: even if I think the Plotweaver "Magic as Skill Test" is simply better, WotC literally couldn't adapt it and ditch Vancian casting. So, technically they don't, there are not "Classes" in full D&D terms, it is a Career based...

One of the big things about Sanderspn right now: he is basically the most successful living author with no TV or movie adaptation. He is working hard on changing that...so if Mistborn becomes a big film in 4 or 5 years, your players might be interested in trying out the tie-in TTRPG.

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

The Star Wars example brings to mind a funny story from Sanderson about his own experience with WEG Star Wars: he and his friends managed to get the main chrome the movies accidentally killed during the events of A New Hope, ao they got a long running campaign out of "fixing history". That...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

I mean, that is part of it, the Backers have only had the material for a week. Aside form some content creators on social media, that's a tight turnaround time for a lot of us to schedule a game, let alone get it going. I do know they have a big presence at GenCon.

And mass combat! After 10 years, 5S has absolutely no way to simulate a large battleamd this game had a coherent quick and easy system right out the gate ready to go. Social and exploration encounters work as well systemized and easy to use Skill Challenges, it's amazing. The unified Class...

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Yeah, I think Stormlight is going to do very well, but once Mistborn is up and active they will really be cooking with fire. Mistborn is less of a learning curve, and Era 2 is basically a perfect and easy to understand RPG Setting. Easy to understand rules plus that Setting will be huge. And...
