Daggerheart Session 2: Forest Maintenance generates great Fear. (Both literally because the Party rolled with Fear a lot, but also because I tried out a juvenile Flickerfly against the party and a few PCs had to explain the various fears they witnessed)

The transformation is interesting in that each offers a boon and a penalty. The Demigod, for example, rolls a d10 instead of a d6 as an advantage die, but gives the GM additional fear. I like this, conceptually. Simpler than the idea I had been noodling around for similar character themes.

I think, though this is a guess after only one session and some theory crafting, that a phased solo like the Volcanic Dragon can fit the bill as a legit solo threat. But normal solos are more like 4e elites.
