Will you make transsexual Elves canon in your games ?

Then don't play with people who want to make a mockery of serious stuff.

Will you make transsexual Elves canon in your games ?

I've seen quite a few of my online trans friends celebrating the Blessing of Corellon and looking forward to making use of it, but thanks anyway.

Will you make transsexual Elves canon in your games ?

There is nothing innately kinky, or even erotic, in a character who can change gender/sex unless you choose to make it so. And I expected better from you.

Will you make transsexual Elves canon in your games ?

I find it difficult to consider an ability possessed by a fraction of a fraction of the race to be much of a retcon, frankly. Especially a race already known for having about a million subtypes.

Sending Spell: How many words to send teleportation circle sigil sequence?

You know, now that you bring that up, I'm shocked I never made that connection myself. The Riftwar series were some of the first fantasy novels I ever read. Or at least I never made it consciously. On a subconscious level, that may be part of why the idea of teleportation circle...

Will you make transsexual Elves canon in your games ?

This concept doesn't require Corellon, it just requires you give a reason for it. It could be some other elven god. It could just be a magical ability some elves happen to develop. And let's not pretend the idea of non-binary gender is anything new. Many cultures have had "third genders" or...

Sending Spell: How many words to send teleportation circle sigil sequence?

I mean, sure, it can be interpreted that way, and more power to you if that's what you want. Me, I never even considered--and don't care for the idea--that these sigils represent anything in the way of coordinates. I view them as an array of magic symbols that are unique to each circle, but...

Sending Spell: How many words to send teleportation circle sigil sequence?

I don't think it works, honestly. The sigils of a teleportation circle are just that: images, not words. It's like trying to verbally describe a Celtic knotwork; it can't be done. You'd need a spell that allows you to send visual images, not words.

The Next Dungeons & Dragons Storyline Will Be...

You know, given that Abstruse busts his ass for this site--hunting down stories, collating information, and writing it all up every week, plus trying to stay on top of big stories like this one--and given that WotC won't allow ENWorld access to advance info due to leaks that weren't ENWorld's...

The Next Dungeons & Dragons Storyline Will Be...

My only complaint so far is the mind flayer picture--and it's not a problem with the picture per se, but the implications. I know I'm shouting into the wind. I know this ship's done sailed. But I hate mind flayers (or beholders, for that matter) being treated as just funky-looking NPCs. They...

The guy in the second picture, second row, far left makes me think of Steven Brust. (If you've met him, you'll understand.)

The Next Dungeons & Dragons Storyline Will Be...

I'm a huge fan of urban D&D/fantasy settings. (As opposed to the "urban fantasy" genre, which is a different thing, though I also like that.) Cityscape might've been a clue to that. ;) I'll be getting this for urban rules, story seeds, and NPCs/monsters, far more than for the adventure itself...

    Reopening Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes

I mean, to be fair, it's not like Greg K needs to justify his decision not to buy a game supplement. Do I personally think he's likely missing out? Sure. I'm disappointed I haven't gotten my copy yet, and I'm looking forward to it. But as decisions go, not purchasing a book is pretty much a...

D&D 5E (2014) MTOF: Elves are gender-swapping reincarnates and I am on board with it

So, Hussar, I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you overall. There are elements of Planescape I'm not fond of, too, and would prefer they hadn't become the default. But a lot of what you're talking about predates Planescape. Demons and demon lords all coming from the Abyss, all that? That's 1E...

Optional Facing Rule: do you use it?

If you limit it to situations where you're facing more than one foe from multiple angles, it might work. But then what's the advantage over the optional flanking rules?

Optional Facing Rule: do you use it?

It's also, frankly, unrealistic. I mean, not if you're facing multiple foes it's not. Then it's an issue. But facing a single foe? The ability to run around behind an enemy, who can't turn to face you because they've already spent their reaction, is--even for D&D's abstract combat...

D&D 5E (2014) MTOF: Elves are gender-swapping reincarnates and I am on board with it

I do not get this. At all. I've played every single numbered edition, as well as BECMI. I've familiarized myself with every SRD, for professional reasons. I see nothing--nothing--that makes 5E any harder to customize, or "bakes in" any more 5E flavor, than in any prior edition. And in fact...

Yugoloths: Do They Have an Identity Beyond the Blood War?

I wonder--and I'm just thinking aloud here, this isn't something I've spent a lot of time on--if searching for a race-wide goal/purpose/identity for the yugoloths isn't self-contradictory. They're neutral evil, emphasis (since we're talking about the differences with demons and devils) on...
