In terms of story, writing, and dialogue, yeah. It's serviceable, but not exactly inspired on that front. Solasta, however, is an utter blast to actually play, which I absolutely cannot say for NWN.

Unfortunately, it's also a bit of a nerf in that it has no effect on enemies immune to the poisoned condition. Which is a fairly common immunity.

Taking all factors into account (i.e. general crappiness, level of the spell, mechanics of said spell, comparisons to spells with similar functions, etc.), Mordenkainen's Sword definitely takes the title. Immolation is a notable dishonorable mention.
