This UA is clearly an indicator that they may be running out of ideas.

I'm having fun with my Moon Druid at the moment. He's, of course, hilariously overpowered, just like he is in tabletop D&D from levels 1-4 (which are also the levels BG3 Early Access happen to cover).

I want to say there was in some early versions of it, but it got changed to -10 to initiative later on? Regardless, -10 to initiative for surprise would still have put the Assassin in a much better place than it is now. Point was the Assassin gets nothing to compensate for surprised enemies...

The major problem with Assassinate, the surprise part of it, especially, is that it carried over from earlier playtest versions of 5e where there actually was such a thing as a surprise round. So now, in actual 5e, you're stuck with an Assassin who has to succeed at stealth AND the attack roll...

It was OK when there were fewer supplements, but now that you have Xanathar's AND Tasha's, it was time for it to go.

So that Scribe guy (who blocked me here lol) started a thread on the Larian forums encouraging other fellow malcontents to review-bomb Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam. Yeah, if it wasn't obvious before that he wasn't acting in good faith, it sure is now.

Well when you dramatically demand your refund for EA, it doesn't appear to some like providing feedback is your purpose.

I'd also suggest Larian should allow you to toggle what loaded dice affects. Like if you want it to affect ability checks but not attack rolls or saving throws, for example.

All they really need to do from here is make all jumping during exploration automatic based on your Athletics check, and they'll eliminate my last major gripe about movement.

OK, good for you? That doesn't match my experience with either game in question, so to say that BG1 movement is "factually" better than BG3 is pretentious.

I too played BG1 not much longer ago than you did, and no, the movement there is absolutely NOT better than BG3 "without question." For that matter even BG2 has some frustrating pathing problems.

It looks like it respects its source material, which is more than most video game movies do. That doesn't guarantee it will be good or even watchable, but it does increase the probability.
