D&D 5E (2014) Jeremy Crawford Discusses Details on Custom Origins

I don't recall saying a +2 Con is the only thing a dwarf is to me. I don't even remember saying a +2 Con is the only thing a dwarf is to me mechanically, which I almost consider a fair- if mistaken- interpretation of my words. But to answer the question you asked, because having that +2 Con is...

D&D 5E (2014) Jeremy Crawford Discusses Details on Custom Origins

If it's all about your character as an individual getting something (as opposed to your character getting something for being a general member of a particular group), what's the point of even noting that said character is a member of that group in the first place, mechanically speaking?

    D&D 5E (2014) Bad Sage Advice?

I dunno, I'm fine with (almost) every official shield being an exception to the general rules for magic armor, given things like Evocation Wizards not even having (unless they managed to get Sacred Flame somehow) a cantrip of their school that could be used with their school's subclass feature...

D&D 5E (2014) 4th level Bladesinger with same AC as Tarrasque

Use things that ignore AC? Alternatively, attempt to get them to use up their spell slots on Shielding.

D&D 5E (2014) "Consistent Attack" -- Is this TOO powerful?

It's a no cost frenzy with conditions that make it useless for people trying to maximize damage but otherwise beneficial for those trying to maintain damage yet still do other things on their turn. So, it's ok, I guess.

D&D 5E (2014) ... is "glyph of warding" the 5e way to make spell scrolls?

Are the spell scribing rules in Xananthar's Guide (pg 133) no longer a thing?

D&D 5E (2014) Reliable Talent and Disadvantage - order of precedence?

Given it's equally likely that the 'a' in the context of the rule could mean 'any' instead of 'one', your insistence that said 'a' must be read as 'one' is baffling.

D&D 5E (2014) Houserules balance check: all fighters get BM's maneuvers.

Honestly, I'd just remove superiority die entirely and let the fighter have the effect (but not bonus damage) of a given manuever on each attack.

    D&D 5E (2014) Classes that Suck

Why was there even a roll for a chef pretending to be a chef? Like, did the DM think your character was a crappy chef or something? Were you pretending to be a specific chef with particular mannerisms - which doesn't really fit with carrying supplies for the kitchen (at least, I can't imagine a...

DDAL Simulacrum can it be twinned.

This is in reference to the AL ruleset, which: Doesn't allow Unearthed Arcana Doesn't allow Simulacrum to cast Simulacrum or spells which would duplicate its effects (technically this should mean a Simulacrum in AL couldn't cast Wish, but the guidance on Wish says otherwise, so shrug Anyway...

WotC What anime franchises could be adapted into D&D?

Goblin Slayer's definitely the closest thing that's recent, to the point that turning it into one is trivial. Rather than any specific franchise though, I'd rather see more isekai anime adopt an official dnd setting as the other world their main characters go to.

D&D 5E (2014) Why don't more classes grant bonus skills?

Most games may not give their characters days for downtime activities, but I would bet most games at least leave an average of an hour or two each day that could be devoted to such things. Which is why I would make downtime more flexible, tracking progression by the hour instead of by the day...

D&D 5E (2014) Why don't more classes grant bonus skills?

Just to note, while the normal Training downtime activity lets you only learn a language or a tool, the special Training downtime activity (from Marks of Prestige in the DMG) allows for learning skills or even acquiring feats. So with enough time (and availability of people able to train you)...

D&D 5E (2014) What "attack"-oriented cantrips do you like the most?

Sacred Flame for trolling people with holy light. Chill Touch because the idea of shutting even the highest echelons of health restoration with a humble cantrip gives me the most perverse sense of satisfaction. Magic Stone (No, I don't care that it's not on the list, it's an attack spell)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiclass for level 3 wizard (evoker)?

Is buying/questing for a scroll of Mage Armor or asking a fellow wizard for a favor (or trade) simply not an option here? If not, you could also take Magic Initiate (since taking feats is on the table) and get two extra cantrips on top of a 1/day not spell slot using cast of Mage Armor...

    D&D 5E (2014) Limited Wish - Money Maker?

The easiest (guaranteed) way to make money would be to offer spellcasting services to other people. Heroes' Feast, Raise Dead, Reincarnate, and Awaken are some good choices for immediate money.

    D&D 5E (2014) Level 20 Class Competition Ideas

If the wizard has time for multiple castings of simulacrum (a spell that takes 12 hours unless you're using wish to cast it), then said wizard has time to: Cast Simulacrum on self to create Sim #1 (12 hours) (This Simulacrum is only missing the 7th level slot you used to create it) Long Rest to...

    D&D 5E (2014) Level 20 Class Competition Ideas

How are you getting those maximums? Is the sorcerer twining themselves and their opponent during the fight? Because by the rules they don't have access to another person to twin before the fight and you can't make two copies of yourself through twinning.

    D&D 5E (2014) Level 20 Class Competition Ideas

The only competition that should be considered is the one that the most people actually want to participate in. What should and should be (for any satisfaction of fairness or propriety requirements) is completely irrelevant, unless the majority / plurality wants the most fair / proper...
