    D&D 5E (2014) The 5E Art is Awesome

Yeah, really dig the black & white line drawings (Jeff Dee was classic, and I love the art in the 1st Ed Manual of the Planes and 2nd Ed Ravenloft boxed set).

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

My only regret after reading this thread is not picking up the 3rd Ed FR Silver Marches book!

D&D 5E (2014) How did you handle the Aarakocra?

I'm fine with it, just depends on the setting.

    D&D 5E (2014) Would you change a monster's hit points mid-fight?

I totally see what you mean, fortunately he was already known to the PCs, some foreknowledge (history), so, they really felt a glowing victory, and knew something special happened, so, result!

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

I don't deny it, I just don't acknowledge it, just like I don't acknowledge the Time of Troubles, Age of Mortals, Prism Pentad, Grand Conjunction, Unhuman War II, The Faction War, and all that other busybody, ruining the original campaign vision writing malarkey.

    D&D 5E (2014) Second Wind Regeneration

True, there is an X-Men annual, from around 1986, which proves he can regenerate his entire body from one drop of blood (this, of course, does bypass the adamantium thing).

D&D 5E (2014) New game for me. Is this acceptable?

Be careful with magic items in this edition, they are not assumed. Put in, what you feel comfortable with.

D&D 5E (2014) Anyone else feel like the distinction between conjuration and evocation is really muddy?

I don't think so, wish (can't seem to have an italicise choice here), transcends all (for better or ill).

Unearthed Arcana Where is the new Unearthed Arcana article?

The sense of entitlement, with this edition, has reached new (or old, "traditional" garbage?) bounds.

D&D 5E (2014) Princes of the Apocalypse Hits the Shelves!

Yep, once again, they seem to be approaching it from a MtG situation. This time, not rules-wise.

D&D 5E (2014) Huge Constrictor Snake - Just how HUGE is it?

What a shame, I limited myself, in such a way, once, never again.

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

Yeah, that busybody writer, meta-plot malarkey, I gave up quite a while ago, stick with the original vision of the setting.

D&D 5E (2014) Huge Constrictor Snake - Just how HUGE is it?

The giant, and large, and giant, and large, and huge, and giant, has been hilarious since 3rd Ed.

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

But we already have multiple versions of CSs, is a fourth, or fifth, really necessary, at this point?

D&D 5E (2014) Forgotten Realms and Princes of Apocalypse: Kossuth and Imix?

Ha, of course, totally, Kossuth is a deity, Imix is not. Apologies, distracted today.

D&D 5E (2014) Forgotten Realms and Princes of Apocalypse: Kossuth and Imix?

Yes, what MerricB said: think of Donald Sutherland in Backdraft.

    D&D 5E (2014) Would you change a monster's hit points mid-fight?

Of course, those are two of the core pillars of the game.

Chris Perkins: Reintroducing Settings in Ways that Surprise People

Why does it not bode well? The splat-crunch-avalanche has not worked out too well, so far; burn out; maybe they are trying to actually alter a bad tradition. "…tradition is the illusion of permanence…" -Woody Allen
